What a difference a decade makes. I posted these photos on FB and got an interesting (to me) reaction.
Ten years is a long time. Lotta ground been covered. Lotta grouse in the pan. Lots more out there waiting.
Anybody else have photos they can compare from last year and 2014? Me in the green shirt back in 2014. Tan...last September. Both opening day shots.
Same shotgun, 20-gauge Franchi Legacy. Different sixguns...41 Magnum S&W and .45 Colt, Ruger New Vaquero.

I don't seem to get to be on the trigger for grouse much anymore, wife and kids kind of screwed me on that deal as of late :chuckle:

If my grandson is with me, he’s on em like a bird dog.

And the calendar continues to count down toward the Monday, Sept. 15 opener, and we will all be sure to have our shotguns oiled, our fluorescent orange vests and hats clean and ready, and our hunting boots all set!
Be there or Be Square!

Heck my gear is in the truck. Going to be just leaving Wa for a trip with wife around Oregon for a couple weeks. But taking the dog and shot gun in case I get a chance to sneak out coming or going.

Looks like the same hunter with the same shotgun, both may have aged a little but both still effective! That's a good thing!

Nice.
Hope to find some grouse in my new state.
What's the hog leg for?

Don't know where you're from, but around here, people occasionally encounter things with claws and teeth. Mountain lion killed a guy not far from where I live about 6 years ago, and another cat attacked a female bike rider group about 2 years ago. Bears are abundant, too.
Where I hunt, there are bears and cats.
Good luck hunting.
