Anyone fished Bonaparte recently? Was thinking of getting a cabin there for the week next week. Been years since I’ve been up to it. Pretty much since I moved away from Curelw.
Thanks!

It’s been years since I’ve been there but worms were the ticket for the Eastern Brook trout!

Fished it last year about three days . Off bottom with pontoon boats. Caught 4-5 trout.
Caught couple of dock too. Power bait. Kinda slow.
Fished Curlew lake this year for a week. Not one bite. Camped at state park.
Never saw anyone catch a fish except some perch and bass.
Lots of theories, some say tiger Muskie eating trout, other say only fingerlings were planted.
:dunno:

It was my anniversary couple days ago and my wife had never been to the republic/curlew area. We went for a drive and I stopped at the park. They must of just released a bunch of baby tiger muskies. They were catching them like crazy from the dock at the state park, all like 12-18” 😂

We have not been over this summer but the pics I am seeing say its been pretty good. Tigers and Kokanee are doing real well. If I had the time, it would be a great way to spend a few days for sure. I hope you go and have a great anniversary trip!

Anyone catching lakers at Bonaparte in recent years? I know they used to be in there but haven't seen or heard of anything lately. Sorry not trying to thread jack. Just was curious.
