Just got back from a week hunt in MT, my first time ever. Colder and more snow than I imagined, minus temps and 16" of snow. we filled all four tags with; 3 point muley, 4 point muley, 3 point whitey and a 5 point whitey. It was a learning experience for me, I knew next to nothing about the area we were hunting, but still managed a decent 18" tall 3 point muley. I had a 400 yard shot at a big 24" four point in the snow I did not take, was not a shot I felt OK about with the snow and fog. Had it been a clear day, I may have attempted. All and all great trip and I will post photo's in the next day or so.

Sounds like a great trip. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Right on D....sounds like another MT. non-resident hunter has been born. Pretty addicting place to hunt. Congrats on all the bucks. Look forward to some pics.

My muley on the far left.

Congrats D-Man. Looks like a successful trip. Did you guys tent it or motel it? Might have to cuddle up to the woodstove with those temps
-
Congrats, looks like it was worth braving the cold.

Thanks, I've tried posting like six other pics, keeps timing out on me. Stayed at the Trailside in Lewistown, tent would have been a bad idea at -5 degrees ;)

The buck in the mist photo is my favorite. I also will try to post a series of whitey photos of a nice buck rubbing a tree up close. We saw easily over 500 deer and over 150 bucks, but it's amazing how many had been pressured on to "orange" ground by the last week of the season. Had to wade through a ton of spikes and forks, fun to see them though.

Nice job! Looks like fun, cant wait to see more.

d-if you can't get the pic's to work, e-mail them to me and i'll post them up. i'd really like to see them.

Cool! I didn't really mind Lewistown. People were pretty friendly....lot of Dutch Amish folks huh? Looks like a good hunt and a little different then when I was back there in September. Congrats on the bucks.

Nice Dman. Looks like some kind of weather you where having. Nice pics, thanks for posting.

Thanks all, will get a few more shot's up later today. I took my deer to Stahl's, the colony 23mi east of Lewistown on 200, incredible work they do! The pepperoni, summer sausage, etc. is absolutely the best I've had. Very nice folks too, they gave us a tour of their operation, coffee and a sandwhich!

Congrats on the trip... the snow, cold, wind, and drive all are worth it when you come home with a full tag.

Sorry to jump the post, but the last year we were living there was 2000. We had a storm blow in. six inches of snow fell and then we set a record. It was -15 or colder for 24 days straight. Felt like living in a freezer. I certainly don't miss working in that weather. Nice pictures, Dman! It is a great place to hunt.

Thanks Josh! Wasn't sure if it went through or not. That was our first day there, before the snow flew. This whitie was only 75 feet from where we had permission to hunt.... We ended up doing OK, but at that time, I wish I had a rattle!

good lookin picture with those bucks in the back of that truck!
