Last season was my first time grouse hunting, I found a few down in Elbe, Capitol, and up in cle Elum. All ruffed, which are fun no doubt. But I would love to get some blues this year. I have the next week off of work and some more time coming up. I was thinking of hiking up in GMU 203 or out near Colville. I’m sure both harbor birds, however what elevation and habitat should I focus on? I found some yesterday in cle Elum around 4k, but with bow in hand and mule deer on my mind, I didn’t want to send the arrow. Went back to the same ridge with my 28 and a dog… and couldn’t find a bird to save my life.

 Any guidance would be appreciated!
