So with the fires burning late this year and roads being closed, how many of you will be looking for a new place to hunt this month?
My spot is still open but I’m worried it’s going to be busier than usual because of the closure in the neighboring unit. Anyone thinking this will be their situation as well?

I think quite a few guys will be exploring some new country this year.

The small part of Entiat that is still open is gonna be worse than driving thru seattle.

I was thinking the deer hunters can at least spread out across the state but the elk hunters are stuck in eastern Washington unless they have a multi season tag and elk are more concentrated to pockets in eastern Washington unlike the deer. Not as many options if your drainage is closed and we all only get a week for rifle.

Seen a few campers and motorhomes showing up in 101 area while I was getting firewood yesterday.

Reecer creek is a zoo as is the bottom of naneum. Not sure if it’s cause of teanaway and blewett being closed

I was thinking about charging a toll for each rig that goes by my house. Seems like a good get rich quick plan to me.

You're gonna need a couple employees to keep up with demand Steve. LOL

Has anyone been up the 19 road this week? According to the website most of the campgrounds including dispersed camping sites are closed. Curious if this is right or not.
I can’t find a forest order that says why they are closed but they’re all listed as closed.

How does one close a dispersed camp site, does the FS know your gonna camp there.🤣
-
My thoughts exactly but I want to make sure there are not concrete barriers on the road before I tow my trailer over there. 😂
If it’s closed I will not camp there but since I will be homeless during elk season they are not allowed to tell me to move my trailer until the social workers show up to help me find a permanent housing solution. 🤣

We have never seen so many people up in Manastash! It’s a city of campers and sxs’s!

With all the recent snow in the higher elevations and more coming, it’s really gonna affect some of the elk hunters camps too.
I know of a handful of tents that are already flat on the ground as we speak
