Title: Displaced Hunting Camps?
Post by: CarbonHunter on October 05, 2025, 09:28:03 AM: So with the fires burning late this year and roads being closed, how many of you will be looking for a new place to hunt this month?

My spot is still open but I’m worried it’s going to be busier than usual because of the closure in the neighboring unit. Anyone thinking this will be their situation as well?

Post by: CarbonHunter on October 06, 2025, 12:24:12 PM: I was thinking the deer hunters can at least spread out across the state but the elk hunters are stuck in eastern Washington unless they have a multi season tag and elk are more concentrated to pockets in eastern Washington unlike the deer. Not as many options if your drainage is closed and we all only get a week for rifle.

I was thinking about charging a toll for each rig that goes by my house. Seems like a good get rich quick plan to me.

I can’t find a forest order that says why they are closed but they’re all listed as closed.

If it’s closed I will not camp there but since I will be homeless during elk season they are not allowed to tell me to move my trailer until the social workers show up to help me find a permanent housing solution. 🤣

I know of a handful of tents that are already flat on the ground as we speak
