Title: Color phase fox
Post by: Loup Loup on October 14, 2025, 08:14:09 AM: I’ve been tending a few wolf traps. As the season progresses I’ll oft times set a few traps for other furbearers. Fox seem to fur up earlier than coyotes. Also, from what I’ve seen, fox do well around wolves. Coyotes take a beating from wolves, and can be almost nonexistent where wolves are established.
This pic shows two Red fox. One the usual red coloration, and the other of the Cross fox coloration. Called that because when you hang the Cross fox’s pelt up there is a dark cross down the back and across the shoulders.

Are Color Phase worth more than a typical fox skin?

Yes, Alchase, the cross and Silvers are typicallly worth more than the reds. Course there’s different shades of red too.
