Title: Late Season Elk Unit 672
Post by: Stubbornmoose on November 09, 2025, 08:56:11 AM
Good Morning all,

I'm a new bow hunter, got my first Buck last fall.  I wasn't planning on elk hunting this year but I managed to score some time off during late season. I have a Western Elk Archery Tag.
I live out in Spokane so I've been scouring OnX looking for a place to hunt out West.  The State Owned Land in unit 672 South West of Doty around Walville Peak looks promising .  I can't find much info on the area online other than that there is active logging at times.  I'm planning on spending a week out there.  Does anyone have any good info on what gates are open this time of year and what is/isn't allowed?  I'm hoping to find a corner to set up camp and maybe saddlehunt on the edge of a clearcut if spot and stalk isn't working.  I'd hate to drive 6.5 hrs only to find everything gated off.

Thanks in advance!

The gate on highway 6 should be open. I don't think I've ever seen it closed.
