Anyone ever driven from WA to CO to hunt? Looks like 17 hours and could be done in one day of driving hard.
I have tag in GMU 70 for Sept 12 - 20. Planning on driving over.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I'd start about 3 in the morn and drive hard. You can do it in a day. Balls to the wall, no stops.

its a long ass day down to 70 :twocents:

five hour energy's chased with red bull outta do it. if you double your speed you'll get there twice as quick . No really I suggest taking two days and enjoying the whole trip , be fresh when you get there. good luck .

I've done that one a couple of times. I like to stay overnight in Ogden UT. then get into Colorado mid day the next day. One night in a Super 8 motel is a heck of a lot cheaper than falling a sleep at the wheel on the highway ;)

I drove from Dolores to Colfax, Wa in one day last year. It wasn't too bad. I left at 2:30 a.m. and made it home by 6 p.m. The trip down is always easier as you are excited for the hunt! Good luck, I will be heading down for the 3rd rifle season, but I have a little 8 day stop planned south of Boise in a little piece of heaven called unit 45. :chuckle:

We drove it in 15.00 hrs...nonstop with three drivers pulling a 22' trailer and haulin arss. We went into Durango in the sw corner of the state.

Did you really drive from camas to durango in 15 hrs?

thats a long ass drive. doing it by yourself? get a buddy to tag along and tag team the drive. :dunno:
-
Yep. Dodge diesel with three drivers. One guy would drive until he was too tired, then pull over in a rest stop for a pee break and another would slide behind the wheel.
