Few years ago there was a big poaching ring busted in the Grande ronde area of the blues, caught some guys with I remember 17 trophy bulls , muleys and bears. Well I was at my brothers house, his neighbor came over and was talkin about hunting, he gets on the topic of when he was in prison(whole diffrent story lol) his cell mate was one of these guys in this poaching ring, dunno if thats why this guy is in prison, but he tells him they took what they considered 90!!! trophy bull elk! >:( shoulda been shot! thats insane, what a way to really ruin a unit, I know they closed it for years due to that.

THink what the Blues would be like now if those lowlifes hadn't taken all those bulls!! Its great now but took a long time to recover and took a lot of tags away from guys that would have loved to heav one. And that is a big part if not the main reason why we now have the law about not being able to pick up winterkill skulls because that is how those guys were getting the heads out, shooting them and hanging the heads in trees and packing them out in the spring. Would be nice to now the names and pics of those guys if there out now. nwhunter

What a waste :'( I found a nice 5pt whitetail head in a tree once down around Mt. Spokane, I figured that is why it was there, it was during turkey season, the bast@#!s never came back for it even.

Nope, no need for a nasty looking skull of a deer that I didn't shoot ;) Besides I was to busy chasing birds. :chuckle:

I am pretty sure they are still in prison. I have heard that they are not real popular. A lot more hunters in prison than you would think... :chuckle:
