I'm gonna try Slick Tricks this year which one should i try and why? The standard or the magnum? Thanks
-
I shoot the standards and love them. I looked at the magnums but do not like the blade angle which could result in deflections as well as planing. This is just my observation and is not backed by field testing.

I shoot the standards

Ya I switched to Slick tricks this year, after shooting G5 Strikers (didnt like them) and Muzzy (nothing wrong with them). I havent shot them just yet but will in the next week or two and see how they fly.
-
mine fly just like field tips.
-
And that would be all over the place? :chuckle:
-
yup...can't find anything that helps.
-
Gotta cut it back to one pot of coffee before you go shoot.
-
Jackelope and crunchy are both of you guys shooting standards?
-
yep and yep.
-
Is there a reason why all of you guys shoot the standards over the magnums?
-
nothing specific for me. i got them and tried them, like i said they fly just like my field tips, they kill animals so i use them. thats all. if it ain't broke don't fix it.
polarbear may be using the slick trick magnums...not sure.
-
whichever flys better with your set up. looks like a muzzy copy to me :chuckle:
-
Thanks for the input so far guys. Anybody else have any more input?
-
I shoot the Magnums and really like them! They punch a nice big hole and fly just as well as field points.
-
I shoot the Magnum 100's with a FOB and they are dead on out to 70 yards (the farthest I have a pin for).
-
I got my dad a dozen arrows with a dozen magnums on them he needs all the help he can get. I dont think you can beat that braodhead for the price :twocents:

I shoot standards for deer, but I just switched to a full cutting steep angled broad head for elk. I am planing a guided hunt in New Mexico next year and most the guides recommend that type broad head for better penetration, so I figured I would try it here first see how they workout. :dunno: :twocents:
