what is your favorite elk bugle? I wore out my old one and it is time for a new one. It got me wondering what favorite bugles others have.
-
Primos tube with Abe and sons mouthpiece for locating, then switch to a diaphragm for close in work.
-
Bugling Bull Game Calls by Rocky Jacobson. Best grunt tube and by far the best reeds :twocents:
-
Primos pack bugle and Hoochie mama ;)
-
Homemade diaphragm calls, Jones' grunt tube
Jones Calls - Small, Medium & Large bull diaphragms, Persuader.
Primo's pack bugle
Glen Berry diaphragms
I mix 'em up and try to find just the right sound to excite bulls
-
Jones reeds with a grunt tube, easy to use and sounds good.
-
Berry Thunder Bugle colapsable. Sounds good and easy to pack around. Call bulls into 35 and 30 yards the last two years for kill shots using it. I have had great success with it. :twocents:

ElkNut has some nice bugles. Good tones and dont have the plastic sound to them. Pretty light weight when compared to Rockys bugle.
-
Berry Thunder bugle. Simple to use and effective.
-
My boss has a ELknut one and it sounds great, but I much prefer a toddlers base ball bat,, teh red one with a great big fat end... It carries thats for sure!
-
Primo's Terminator.
-
a real light "hoochie mama"
-
I use a Powerbugle, but I have heard so many good things on this site about Elknut's calls I may have to get one before Sept. Primos diaphrams for cow calling.
-
a few different diaghrams from Bugling bull and their new open reed estrus cow call.
-
Rockey mountain bugle with there brown reed
-
One that someone else uses to call a bull in for me to shoot. It could be Western Family for all I care. :chuckle:

When I read this post that is exactly what went through my mind.. I wouldnt tute nothing else!! 2 thumbs up on the brown read!! I by them out everytime i find um!! Good call their guy!! :)

I bought the Orange Rockey mt reed i like that one as well it is a little deeper. I have every color they all work very good. The green and brown work good for cow calls to.

My cousin has a small bugle he calls the Pioneer call. It looks like a homemade job, but I believe he bought it at a store somewhere in Colorado in the 80's. The call is a piece of 1/2'' copper tubing wrapped in about 3 circles. All you do is blow through it and it sounds like a small bull. Any one ever heard of one of these?
I have seen one. a buddy of mine has one. They are pretty cool
-
I see a few are using the thunder bugle from Berry's game calls. Good to hear as I just bought one yesterday. That high pitch squeal sounds good for the roosevelt. Up to this point, it's been pretty much the hoochie mama.
-
Elk Inc. Powerbugle. I've tried the mouth reeds MANY times through the years but can't get a decent sound. Most won't even fit properly in the roof of my mouth. Guess I'm deformed :dunno:
