I was just looking at all of the fish and wildlife sites and saw that the WA Eastside Mule Deer tag sold for only $7500!!!! Kinda crazy to think that a working class mule deer fanatic could have saved for a year or so and been in the running for an auction tag! A sign of the times I guess?
-
Wow, did you get the name?
-
No, I was just looking at the auction totals on the F&G website. Do they usually list the high bidder? Down from 14K last year!
-
I am going to start saving my pennies..... and hope this years tag holder gets skunked to drive the price down even further :chuckle:
-
Well Matts buck was nice enough to keep the price up, not sure why it would drop in half except for the economy.
-
I am sure it is the economy....I am watching CO landowner tags drop daily. The WA eastside elk tag is down 20K - still not cheap, though!

I can't believe how cheap CO landowner tags are this year. I hope they are this price next year.

The mule deer tag sold for more than $7500. More like $12,000+ if I remeber right. Same guy bought the Westside elk tag. The $7500 was for the gov whitetail tag. I know that for sure. Matt's deer will be out for sale shortly.

Hmmmmmm.....could be? Got this off F&G.........
*2009 Raffle will take place on or around August 6, 2009. Results will be available at http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/permits/raffles by August 20, 2009.
Figures provided in this document are Wildlife Management's tracking of revenue on a calendar year basis. These figures differ from the fiscal accounting required by the State Auditor for the July 1 through June 30 period. Raffle ticket sales for a given year overlap fiscal years. Fiscal reports do not track expenditures for auction and raffle separately. We compiled the revenue and expenditure figures for auction and raffle separately by species for internal management purposes.

There are now 2 eastside tags, 1 whitetail and 1 muley. The video of Matts buck is cool.

There are going to be some great deals on the LO/Governors tags next year..Ive got my eyes on a few in other states.
-
Buy one and let me tag along!
-
What are the hunting restrictions on the auction tags? :dunno: Like what seasons and GMU's?
-
September 1st - December 31st any unit with an open season
-
Like what seasons and GMU's?
all of them/all of them...sept 1 to dec. 31 any unit that had an open season at any point in that time frame can be hunted with whatever weapon you choose whenever you want.
basically.
-
Well that definitely makes it more appealing. Wish I had an extra $7500 burning a hole in my pocket. :'(
-
the $7500 was definitely for the whitetail tag.
-
:yeah: ;)
-
I was corrected several times....... :chuckle: It was for whitetail the tag.
