Saw a blonde sow bear with a yearling cub on the road heading up Teanaway Ridge from Highway 97 last Sunday. Ran right in front of me about 50 yards ahead of my truck. That would have made a great photo, but my camera was in my backpack and they were really hoofing it.
Very dry conditions and I did not seem much in the way of huckleberries.

I've seen a WHOLE BUNCH of nice blondies on the Yakima in the canyon the last couple weeks... All seem to be really enjoying the sun... as long as you can keep them out of the log jams.
