Well I think it turned out well, certainly takes up a good chunk of the wall for sure. Hope you all like it as much as I do. Being in a basement with articial light the pics aren't great, but not too bad for a camera dummy.
-
Sorry, don't know how to add more than one pic per post.
-
Thats a nice moose. Congrats
-
One more.....maybe two. ;)
-
Great bull man!
-
Wow that looks cool
-
its great man. Did you post the story already? Congrats!
-
Awsome bull! Story?
-
Nice bull. Hope to get my Washington moose head back in September.
-
Thanks guys, yeah I posted the story last fall when I killed him. I'm not sure how to link this post to my one from last fall.
-
Cool looking bull. Man I want to hunt moose some day.
-
I'm pretty happy with the mount, he was a haggard beat up old boy, and in person you can really see it in his face, the pictures don't do his facial scars justice.

a couple pics

Thanks for posting the other thread Jack.
Goldtip - did they age either of your Bulls?
They are both fantastic looking bulls. I love the distinctions between the 4 bulls.
Very Impressive - congratulations.
-
Jackelope, thanks for posting the other thread, I appreciate that.
Whacker, no, neither bulls were aged by the game department. The outfitter we were with looked at the teeth and the lack of definition of the points on my bull and figured he was 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 years old. He figured my buddies bull was 6 1/2 to 7 1/2.

Jay and Bob have their hunts on the outfitters site, well done Jay

Thanks phool, this was a tremendous hunt I would recommend to anyone. Funny thing is, when we booked in Feb of 2007 for fall of 2008, one of the reasons was because we never thought we'd get a chance to hunt Moose here in Washington. Wouldn't ya know it, Bob drew a Moose tag for Huckleberry in 2007 and I drew for Selkirks this year. I tell ya it must be all the clean living I been doing! :yike:
-
Well I'm up for a Canada moose hunt and will be chatting with you about these guys. ;)

Rob,
I am in the process of searching Canadian Outfitters for a 2010/11 Moose hunt. Do you have any more info's on Outfitters you can share info on?

Phool/Austrian Hunter, I'd be happy to chat with ya about these guys any time.

Thank you!
I just got done reading your story with Kakwa Outfitter, thats exactly what I am looking for. Is the tag over the counter of draw?
-
The tag is obtained for you by the outfitter. I believe he gets like 20 tags a year. Four of which he sells as archery only hunts. Then he has two, 8 day rifle rut hunts. 8 people in camp for each of those two hunts.
-
What size rifles did you folks use? Nice looking bulls!
-
Both rifles were Browning Stainless Stalkers. Mine was a 325wsm with 200gr Accubonds. Bob's was a 300wsm with 180gr accubonds. Both one shot kills, mine at 70-90 yards, Bob's at around 350+ yards.
-
2011, hmmmmm. Might have to contact them and see what they have for prices and availability, need to get a hunt in before 12/21/12
-
Very Nice!
(p.s. I want to see more pics of your house interior. I love the log detail and ceiling in the far room in the picture.)
-
very nice.Mark

bow4elk, thats the bar I built in my basement. Used 14" Tamarack log and split it down the center with a chainsaw. got it from my folks place back home. Anyway, here's some more pics of what my wifes friends refer to as my man room. My elk head I have upstairs in the stair well, so the jokes on them!
-
The only problem I see with this room is I ain't in it! Very nice - thanks for sharing! I love custom stuff like that where there's a story behind it.
-
My kinda bar, two bottles of Crown on the shelf ;)
-
And an unopened 10 year old bottle of Pendleton as well! And there's still room for a Shiras Moose along that back wall next to the Canadian. Not sure the wall will hold it but I'll do my best this year to put another one on it!
-
Way cool!
-
Very nice thanks for posting the pics!!!!
-
LOOKS GREAT on the wall. Certainly adds to a room doesn't it.
