Title: Washington Wolf Poll
Post by: bearpaw on July 31, 2009, 09:17:07 AM
Here is a poll to cast your vote about the wolf issue in Washington, what's your opinion?

The problem with washington is if they allow us to hunt them. The season will be so retarded you will have to chase them with Nerf guns. You can only hunt on foggy days and you have to have your shoes off. I hate the stupid rules they keep implementing on predator hunting.  :twocents:

voted for no canadian wolves because there has been wolves in wa all along. we already know the management will not happen the way it needs to. aside from re-introducing them there is know way for them to track wolves entering our state from idaho, canada, and already present wolves. populations will already be out of control by the time management is implemented(just like idaho).

I thank u Bearpaw for post this Poll Vote. I think its good idea for us to know how people feel about it. Its great to share eachother and understand what best for everybody.

Voted No to wolves Because They will KILL MOST of Hounds during hunting season and its ALL TRUE! BUT If they are here and If WA state allow unlimited hunting year around.  It would be soooo COOL!
I cant Image that I never heard a howling sounds.  :bash:  I dont understand Why God made me like that! At Least I have good EYES! Whee...  :chuckle:

The thing that really bothers me about the wolves is being able to manage their population by having a hunting season on them to keep them in check.  Good hunting opportunites are limited in our state already, partially because of our population.  The liberal, animal activists in our own population of Washington is a much higher percentage than Montana, Idaho or Wyoming.  Not only will the federal government need to sign off on a hunting season, you will have to get the legislature to authorize it also.  Could be a tough sell in this state.  Once the wolves are here and left unchecked, our animal populations are sure to dramatically decline.  There goes our hunting opportunities.

Well I picked the best option from what was offered....

I'd like to see a native population of wolves that are managed.  None of these imported wolves, none of this protected BS, but a managed population of predators.

You are right, I think Washington will have a harder time trying to get the wolves managed. It has been said that to keep these wolves in check 70% needs to be harvested per year. These wolves multiply up to 50% per year, average litter size is 6 pups, but they have been know to have up to 14 per litter. I would imagine their survival rate will go down as there prey is depleted. I wonder if hunting will also be limilted do to not enough game to feed their wolves.  :bash:

If we're going to have wolves here I think they should have the same season and limit as coyotes.

I hate to see them spoil our hunting. Guess I can take out wolf lovers on howling adventures and photo tours.....tell them about all the deer and moose we used to have and now that we have wolves, we don't need all the barbaric hunting seasons any longer.....tell them how I have evolved to the greener phylosophy....

My rancher friends who have cattle and other stock are really worried, they are barely hanging onto their ranches and just can not sustain losses to wolves. Will be interesting to see what things are like in 10 years.....

I don't think that will be necessary, I think the WDFW Commission will decide management. You need to worry about the legislators try to pass legislation to block any hunting season. That is probably already in their bag of tricks and they are just waiting until we already have wolves in the state before they make their move. :twocents:

One more tool the greenies are using to get us out of the woods completely by reducing the numbers of game animals.  After that, the guns are next!!!!!!!!!!!

Something u need to know between different here and other state of Wisc and Idaho and Mt. Can u image Wolves already KILL 9 hounds which is all different hunters with in one month and I heard there is three another killed this week it would be 11 hounds with in one month.  :yike: And its TRUE!

BONNIE (black/tan) got killed by Okanagon Wolves two winter ago that I was THERE! Not funny! I will never forget this day rest of my LIFE! Every day I went to my hounds kennel and I always think of Bonnie. EVERY day! Now I just gave it to Jesse the  two best hounds today to Califonria Bear hunter. Because Idaho is no place a good to hunt because My dogs stuck with them four times in row and I was in middle of with wolves and hounds during Bear hunting. NO MORE!! I cant Image walking up mountain with my different kind of dogs like Blacklab. They would come snag and kill it.

I know a guy Name Craig's his wife went up Smith road and two months ago, she happen to saw a mother with three pups over heel hill and hear howling start to building and she ran down back to truck and said she will NEVER go for walk up this road ever again.

Anyway

Check this link.  Think about it. Wa state will look like this state of Wisc if we dont stand together against WDFW and FEDS.

http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/er/mammals/wolf/dogdepred.htm

I PROMISE you one thing. WDFW WILL NOT MANAGE WOLVES unless its OVER POPULATION probablly Est of 1000 wolves in whole wide of Wa state! Because WE ARENT STRONG ENOUGH AGASINT WDFW AND FEDS!  :'(
I cant image wolves pack in Packwood area, Many places name one. It would be Nasty!
If you keep report sighting and it wont do any better. Only way we need to stand together!

In few years later there will be no good OIL TAGS! Good LUCK! Hope you people will start to think a way to build Relship with eachother against WA state. It have to be a way to do it somehow.

Well Mulehunter, I don't think most people will get involved and fight this till it is in their own backyard. Hell I didn't, I didn't know snot about these wolves till we started finding all the killing grounds, mass slaughter. First time I saw one of these big black wolves I thought it was neat as hell, we had one in here 4 years ago that would sit bout 100 yds from the house on this little hogback ridge and howl, our stock dogs would howl back. Now we have wolves every where here. It won't be long like you say and they will be all over Washington. Some people might not believe it, but it will happen, and the wdwl will be translocating problem wolves and excess wolves to other parts of the state. I think if all the states that are being affected by these wolves would get togeather and fight it, our chances would be better. The way it is going now they are picking us off one n two states at a time. Maybe we can see delisting earlier if we can prove to the right people that there are more wolves in washington then the wdwl are claiming, maybe than we can get delisted earlier. We need everyone's help though. Same with hunting seasons, hunters fisherpeople, etc, need to get involved as this will affect all of us. This is not one of the "wait n see's". By that time it will be to late. And I think we all hate that word IF, if I would have just been goin a little slower, the truck would still be on the road! IF I would have jumped in and fought the wolf issue a little bit harder maybe then we would still be hunting. I think in order to get these wolves managed early enough to save our huntng rights and public lands use we are going to need everyone getting involved.

I wonder how many of those i could catch in a overheat trap?  This state is so messed up. i wish all those people i pass in the wilderness that give the look and make the comments like " I can't believe you can hunt in a wilderness. and you can have guns in one too?" could spend a night in the wilderness with wolves and ring there bear bells. nothing like here's dinner.
