Went out with a huntin partner this morning before it got too hot. Nothing for me or him except some serious skeeter bites! Saw lots of new berry loafs on the ground but not a Yogie in sight. Maybe next time. How did the rest of the community due?

Nope. I think this past weeks heat had them in the creek bottoms or something. Didn't see a hair one today. Left early as it heated up fast and the bugs came on thick.

I braved the heat for a short time, I was sitting in my spot at 5:00am, seen a few deer but no bears, I was totally drenched in sweat by 8:30 and decided to beat feet to the truck, man it was humid today :yike:, I had scheduled a 3 day weekend but I think I'll pass on hunting bears tell next weekend.

Heard about two guys who shot to bear only to not be able to find them. This burns me up >:(

Opening Day:
I was predator callling some thick brush (I was on the edge of the brush in a powerlinish type area) and had my brother about 10 yards away from me. A bear was putting the sneak on me :EAT: (10 yards or less from my brother), about 20 yards from me. Everytime I would blow, he would move in (I never heard or saw him). My brother was facing the wrong way to get a shot at the bear (color phase), so he was turning slightly while standing on a rock...lost his balance a bit and too much movement caused the bear to bounce.
Went and checked where the bear was standing when it left...everything was dry except a couple of slobber marks on some leaves.
Called in two others, but they hung up in the brush. All very close calls.

My day started at 3am. Got to my spot and sat until 9 no bears. two guys got one on the clear cut above me talked to them but didn't see the bear. Then we hiked out for lunch and planed are afternoon. We started hiking back in around 3pm. then at 720 I took my shot and he started to do kartwheels and piled up at the bottom of the hill. The shot was about a 130 yards bears don't go far when you put 140 grain bullet out of a 7mm-08 right in the hart and out the other side.

Any pics :dunno:

I've hunted almost everyday this season trying to get my second bear. last year I had two down by the 6th this year only seen 1 bear. I've hunted all my spots and there has been bears shot out of all of them so far this year. I dont have any pics of my bear yet. My friend took pics but he left for home Monday going back to Montana. We got video of the bear but missed the shot. we got video of him before and for some reason he stopped filming for a few seconds while I set up then all you can see on film is the bear rolling down the hill
-
D-Rock, that would be good enough for me. I haven't been out at all this year so far, life gets in the way!
Congrats to you guys that have taken 'em!

None today...I hung around town. I'm going to try to get out during the week this next week.
