I bought these boots awhile back after reading a thread here that had many recommendations for them. Well, today I put about 7 miles on them. They are a great boot and I'm really happy with them. I expected a few hot spots or maybe a blister or two, but that wasn't a problem. These boots for me were comfortable right out of the box. Even with the 200-gram insulation on this warm day they were not too warm. I think they will be perfect for the later fall hunting seasons.
No, I'm not a sales rep. Just very happy with them. :)

I bought a pair of the Perfekt hikers from Cabels last year, good solid boot, very comfy. Noisiest damn boot I have ever worn. Squeaked like crazy, sounded like I had a mouse tied to my shoes with every step, took them back, they said yeah they kind of do that, try this, this and this. Tried it all, took them back and said I never want another pair of them boots ruining one of my hunts again. look at the reviews on Cabelas.com, this is a common complaint.

I don't remember the model of my Meindls, but they squeeked at first. I think it is the way those middle laces are set up with that piece of leather attached to the lace hook thing so that you don't get in a bind when you are walking up a steep hill. After putting some Gore-tex safe grease on them a couple of times it went away. They are the most comfortable boots that I own now. I carried a 40 pound pack around for about 25 miles over 2 days a couple of weeks ago and never had a problem with my feet.

I put a few more miles on them this weekend huntin' bear. I have no complaints and they are quiet. They were really comfortable right out of the box. I don't feel like I even need to break them in. :)

I just bought th Perfict Hikers a few weeks age and have been breaking them in. I did use the Obenauf"s grease first prior to any walking, its a leather conditioner. I did put quite a bit on at first, and just kept using my fingers working it in around all the seams. Let them sit in the hot sun and worked the grease again. Laced them up and started walking! No sound, and I really think you could start hunting with them out of the box! I used a pair of liner socks and a smartwool medium treking sock. No hot spots, no nothing, and really comfortable.
