Got this bear coming in looks a little different than my tag allows. What is the thoughts from you boys?
-
No hump! No Grizz!! looks like a typical summer run blackie :chuckle: :twocents:
-
just a cinnamon black bear...you have a tag for them ;)
-
Another pic, any guess on size? Like I said I am a newbie with the bears. Only seen one in the wild.
-
Just a very nice cinnamon bear. Size maybe 180 -200 pounds. It is a decent Washington bear, not a monster.

Not a grizz -
looks tasty
-
Here is the other bear we have coming in. Size? I know I have better pics, just can't find them.
-
Both bears are pretty small, look at the bellies and the ears, I'm thinking they may be around the 120 mark.
-
That cinny is a shooter any day. Nice lookin bear put a tag on it.
-
Both bears have good sized ears, and thats from a side view. I agree with Machias, neither is a terribly big bear. If I was gonna shoot one or the other however it would definitely be the Cinnamon bear.
-
Both small, if its a good area it will hold some bigger boars. I would hold off, but if you just want to fill your tag than hammer down!
-
Gonna be my first archery bear, I would like a mammoth but I think I will be a little too excited to pass on any one of them.
-
Honestly, I think you'll be surprised at how much ground shrinkage occurs with both of those bears.
-
very small bears, it would be a stretch for 175 more like 125
-
What is the average size of a washington bear?
-
I agree, They are both small.
-
Believe it or not the average bear in WA is 145 for sows and 175 for boars.
-
find your self a pic of a 400lb bear you will see the differance
-
I would agree with most here they are both small but hey with a bow I might consider the cinnamon! Ahhh what the heck you get two tags anyway put an arrow in the cinnamon and go buy another tag! Good luck :)
-
What will really get me is if my daughter gets a shot at one with her bow; and whacks a bear before me.
-
If I do arrow a bear what does a rug cost or shoulder mount.
-
Used to be about $100 a foot, probably a little more now. Shoulder mount will probably run you around $400 plus. Nice thing is they take several months on most taxi will let you make some monthly payments.
-
No offense to the guys (and gals) across the mountains, but any recs for local taxis?
-
I highly recommend Darren Fuson up near Nine Mile Falls. Great guy. I can give you his phone number if you'd like to chat with him.
-
That would be great, hopefully either way I will be needing one this year. I am hoping my daughter arrows her first deer. She has claimed a dow with rifle, but I promised a mount if she sticks one with an arrow.
-
I'll PM you later on. Even if you get a small one, my opinion you should get the hide at least tanned. You can do so many different things with the hide. I arrowed a small bear one year and had the hide tanned. It turned out nice and didn't cost toooo much.

You have WCtaxidermy over there also about an hour north of you
