Did a little scouting yesterday for Elk and Bear and things look good. The Elk are working the area pretty well and the bears are still hanging around. Found some fresh tracks and a fair amount of poo for this time of year. Found one pile that was extremely fresh and the rest was a few days to a few weeks old. Figured I'd post a pic of one impressive pile because I'm so jealous of you guys who keep doing it. The pic really doesn't do it justice but it's darn near as thick as a beer can. They say thicker is better than longer. :chuckle: I can't wait to get out there in sept.
Oh!! The grouse seem to me pretty decent too. Didn't see a ton but would have got a limit if they were in season.
All in all we saw a fair ammount of bear sign, a few elk, a ton of elk sign, 8-10 grouse, and a moose. Fall is almost here boys and girls!!!!
Here's my pile!! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: This one was a little old though. Oh well.

How did it feel. To have the chance to post poo. Kind of reminds me of my dad who is a long haul trucker and always wanted to be the first one on the CB to let everyone know there was a hot chick in a car. Finally got his chance on a lonely road in the middle of noware. Just him following another truck and this car past so he grabbed the mic and said "check out the legs on this one". Turned out the other trucker was a woman that said it just didn't do anything for her. :chuckle:

It felt good to get out. Man, it's been a long time since I had a chance. My friend wanted to scout a bit for Elk and I almost said "no, I don't want to go" but figured what the heck. Sure glad I did. Found a great Larch log too. So I cut it up for the wood pile.

Yep, Thicker is better. I can't hit the bottom of a tuna can but sure can fill it out to the sides. :chuckle:

Your pile was pretty big....what about the bear's? Only hunters & craptologists get excited about this.

LMAO. Now that's a funny yet TRUE statement! I remember when I was 15 and got my first whitetail buck, after I convinced those at camp that I REALLY did shoot a buck they followed me out to show me how to gut it. So I did as instructed and then after it was done I opened the stomach. The guys were like what the hell are you doing, I said "seeing what he's been eating so we know where they have been!" Well, I got a few strange looks and my mom got the story of how her son was this weird kid! :dunno: But...I tell you what, I knew where to hunt and was able to help a couple others out! ;)
