I was just shooting the bow and the string needs some attention really bad.I was wondering how long it would take so I know if it could be replaced before opening day.Thanks. :(

When i ordered my winners choice from sportsmanswarehouse it took about a week for it to come in. :twocents:

A good pro shop should get you set up while you wait. That is if they have your string and cables in stock. Lots of guys raving about XXX strings. Might be worth the drive.
I bought some custom strings off of guy who sells them on Archery Talk and installed them myself.

about an hour while you wait, a good shop is going to have quality strings on hand unless you are wanting some crazy colors..
-
Anyone know what price range I might be looking at? Just the bare bones, nothing fancy. :dunno:
-
bare bones nothing fancy 40-50 dollars string and labor
-
sweet! Thanks! This my first replacement Ive had to do so I didnt want to get ripped off.

I have a bow press and can slap string and cable(s) on in maybe 10 minutes. And I dont work in a pro shop. Where ever you bought them they should install and set the bow to specs for free.

when you get a new set shoot 40 to 50 arrows then recheck the timming good to go . you'll have a spare set for the season. dbbowstrings make great strings and he pretty fast.

We are about 1 week out now...

I changed mine for the first time about a month ago (string and cables) and it took about an hour but I was being very meticulous. A new set of strings and cables for my hoyt runs about $85 or so.

When I got mine done it took 5 weeks :( but thats because the shop owner is also a hunting guide and this was during turkey season............it also took forever for the strings to come in.......
-
5 weeeks wow that sucks ...I hope they are good...but we all need to have are fun too :chuckle:....I will NOT make strings when Im in Idaho elk hunting...for 10 days :'(

Get some XXX Archery G Strings and dont look back. I have them on all my bows and there great.

Lots of love going out to triple xxx.I wish I could justify driving all the way for a new bo string. :bash: :bdid:

Cory and Dustin at XXX do great work. No matter where you go, if they have to order strings it's gonna take awhile. This is the season that the closet shooters are flooding the shops at the last minute. It only takes an hour to change but you may be 40th in line. Also the string makers are swamped. You may be able to just give it a good waxing to get you through September, hard to say without seeing it.

Its not just getting a new bow string. Its all the other service that you get with a top pro shop. These are custom strings made to fit your bow. They are not stock strings that fit several different bows.
How long it takes depends on how busy it is. Which mostly depends on the time of the year. They can send you out strings as well, so you don't need to make the drive. Give them a call.

I called Cory and put in an order. 6 days later they were in my mailbox. That string has moved since I had it put on. Peep still lines up great.

all bow models take a particular string and cable length and the strings will most likely not fit on another model. the custom aspect is for pre stretching and colors if you want them. agreed teh part that takes longest is getting the string, they go on real quick.
