I got another buck and this time we had a camera hand.
we headed to the stands at about 7pm. The shooters for the night would be Wild boar(not the lead female), foxes, dachs(badgers), and Reh bock(roh buck) with antlers below the ears.
my wife, her friend and the camera went to a stand called the thrown while i went up to a stand called then electric tower seat where i shot my last little buck. Since the girls had the camera they took some pictures shown below. they Saw one geist(doe roh deer) and 2 hasse(hairs).
the first pictures are the stand and the view from it.

From my seat a few kitz(fawns) came out without a giest in sight. they were at different maturity levels with their spots so i beileive they came from different mothers that we're either hit by a car or shot by another hunter. I watched them for about 20 minutes before the dissapeared. About a half hour later a little buck and a geist showed up almost behind the stand from the some thick bushes. I was contemplating shooting the buck or waiting to bring angela back to shoot it when they spooked and ran back into the thick stuff. some german was yelling at their dog over the hill somewhere ruining my oppourtunity. eventually they germans left and it was beginning to get dark. about 910pm a deer came out from the same spot where the bock and the geist had ran in. pulled the binos out to see it was a shooter so i grabbed my rifle and tucked a 55grain norma soft point behind his right shoulder. He bucked up about 3 feet in the air, turned and scadaddled back into the brush. i gave him some time while i packed up my binos and unloaded to clime out of the stand. Blood trail was easy with him going about 20 meters down a game trail before biting the dust.
the girls heard my shot so they drove the jeep over to where i had parked when it got dark.

Awesome pictures, congrats!!!
-
thanks
-
that's awesome! what did that thing weigh
-
after the gut it weighed 13 kilos.(30ish pounds) They are midgets compared with any american speicies. A big one is somewhere around 18-20 kilos after the gut. it makes for an easy drag. fits in the cooler well too. you can fit a quarter into a gallon ziploc baggy.

That is awsome! Sounds like a blast!
-
we got news of wild boar damage on the far edge of the next reveir over so hopefully they will move into our area for this next full moon :IBCOOL:

That's awesome, congratulation. Mel nice pictures love the tree and the gun pics.

Man I knew those deer were small but that think is tiny!
-
thanks for sharing your hunt with us! Congrats! (nice shot, by the way!)
-
thanks guys. only 2 months of buck season left so maybe i'll go get a couple more :chuckle:
-
So how does he taste?
-
Awesome!
Did you have to quarter him out? :chuckle:
-
what a monster :chuckle: sounds like a good hunt though
-
yup had to quarter him out and call in help so that i only had to make 2 trips into that hole. More like a 70 yard drag up a grassy hill with one hand around both antlers.
the germans let their animals sit for a week before they take them apart so i'll be up there with the hunt owner taking it apart and packing it up for sale.
-
That's awesome. How many are you allowed to shoot per season?
-
There are no bag limits in germany. Heard management is so efficiant that they have quotas every year instead of limits that are adjusted every three years. they go for a one to one buck to doe ratio.
