what range do you guys sight in your .22 pistols? I started practiceing at 50 yrds this morning. I know this is a long ways but I figure if I practice at the edge of my comfort range then anything closer should be a breeze? :dunno:

John, I work from 25 feet, slowly out to long range. Keep pushing it further until I start losing my accuracy.
You are loving that Ruger aren't you.... :chuckle:

You know it brother! I am starting to feel like backwoodsboy when he had the rimrock elk tag, its all I can talk about. :chuckle: I have had about 2 dozen handguns in my life and this one is by far the funnest to shoot.

Do you have iron sights on it? My Mk III Hunter came sighted in at 25yds, and I just left them alone. I used it for a year like that and was perfectly happy with it. Then I put a red dot on there and zeroed that at 50yds. The gun isn't as handy as it used to be, but longer shots are certainly easier with the red dot since it doesn't cover up the targer. If you want to have some fun, set a 12" gong up at 100yds and try for that. From a rest, with the iron sights, if I hold on the very top edge of the gong, I can usually ring it 6-7 times out of 10. Unless the wind starts blowing. Then all bets are off.
There's just nothing more fun than a 22 pistol. Women, children, grown men, even gun haters, doesn't matter. Hand somebody a 22 pistol and a box of ammo and you just know that they're going to end up smiling. :chuckle:
