Most bowhunters wear camo from head to toe but dont cover there face.I always wear camo while hunting.I have never used face paint or use something to cover my face and never had an issue with game seeing me as long as i move my head slow.What do you guys do?

I have always worn a face mask of some sort. It seems to work for me. The part I don't really care for about wearing a mask is that my ears are usually covered. I don't use paint because I don't want to have it smear or get into my eyes. Happy hunting! Less than 2 weeks! :chuckle:

Less than 2 weeks, what season are you hunting?

I would rather have my face and hands covered, than head to toe camo otherwise. It makes a ton of difference once you've been spotted.

Light camo head cover & gloves for me also. Seems like my face has gotten spotted in years past without. Would never paint as it seems like a big mess. I also spray my head net down with scent blocker good as I think a lot of scent comes off my head / hair and blows in the wind. Mike

Jones Face Camo. Best stuff on the market! Comes off easy with a baby wipe but won't sweat off, in fact you sweat right through it.

I like to pull up a camo bandana when it gets time...but I always have my face painted. Mostly because I'm really really white with blonde hair. I stick out if I don't.

Usually a face mask but I don't use it until I know I'm getting ready for some action. I wear it as a stocking cap and pull it down when needed. I'm not opposed to face paint either but then my pillow case looks like crap!!! :chuckle:

I have a naturally dark complexion but awhile ago I bought a really light face covering from cabelas for like $5, its a mesh material and has an elastic band that you wear around the head.

I just wear a hat to shade my face. I had elk look right at when they where only a few feet away and they didnt seem to notice. I think deer are the same since ive had does walk right by me with no face cover too.

The first year I bowhunted I wore one of my duck hunting masks. I was set up on the fringe of a little opening and started hearing sticks pop, out comes a big old bear that stops broadside at 20 yards. I drew and anchored and the eye holes of my mask shifted. The stupid mask had an elastic strap around the back of the head to hold it snug and I could not get it back lined up for the life of me. Cost me a shot. I have not worn a mask since, I use face paint on my hands and face/neck. I use the Hunter's Specialties stuff in a tube most of the time. I slop some on then get it wet and smear it around. It goes a long ways and really cuts the glare. I don't paint a pattern on myself, I just mix green and black to make an olive drab sort of color.

i suppose it would make a difference if you hunt timber or in clearings. was a sniper in the army and always use face paint, i prefer chem sticks in dark and light greens it will not come off very easy.the a.s.p. group get elk without any paint or anything, but i have seen them get an elk that wasnt in the thick stuff or timber.

ya good to cover up your face and hands, i only do that for elk and predator calling but it can make a big diff from what i have had happen

I have several full face masks, the light weight ones for early fall and then fleece for the winter.

I spin my hat backwards and use my bow for cover , this makes my shots more comfortable and I think helps with the hearing .

Always wear gloves and full ski mask type head gear. The smaller the eye and mouth hole the better. Just remember, if you are all camoed out except your hands or face, you will stick out like a sore thumb, especially your hands. I have been 30 feet up a tree and taken my mask off for a few minutes to cool off and had a buck look right at me even though I was absolutely dead still.

I use the face paint, and I think it works well. I shoot trad gear, and I really need to feel my anchor on my face/cheek. Headnets don't work for me.
You can get the little pads to remove the face paint. They are in a little plastic tub. I keep this in my truck so I can clean off my face before I walk into the quickie mart. Would get strange looks otherwise.
