Awsome deer. Look forward to more pics. Just out of curiosity, would ya hang the raffle tag on it yet?
-
Wow cool. I'm sure he will be getting some pms from somebody on that one.
-
Nice buck!!! Can't wait to see more pics of that monster.
-
If that is where I think it is, this could be his daddy! Not a great pic but you can see why I say that.

How long ago was that lowedog? Might even be him.
-
lowedog- love that picture, and i think you are in the right area:) i guess its time to drive up there and take a look, and see whats around.
-
I need a drink after seeing that. or maybe two. thats a awesome buck :'(
-
That's the type of buck that will give you sleepless nights forever. Be interesting what he looks like next year. Definitely the widest I've seen in Wa.
-
Well it is almost noon on "tomorrow".. the anticipation is mounting.
-
Not sure, but last year I seen a 3 point like that first one but he looked to be just shy of 30"... I got to head out and check some areas...

-
Lowedog you might be on the right track, eventhough I believe that buck hadn't been seen for a couple years! If I'm remembering right not positive though, both are cool bucks for sure.
-
seen that buck last year a few times, haven't really been up there to look at any of those deer yet
-
Saw one like that in Mission two years ago, no shot. Lost lots of sleep over it....
-
I think I took that pic in 2004 or 2005. I believe he died of old age. A few sets of his sheds were found and I believe the last year he was known to be around they were mounted on a head mount and he was real close to 40 inches. I have video or photos of this buck from 6 or 7 winters. Started out seeing him as a 26 inch 3 point and for the following 2 winters he grew to over 30 inches as a 3 point then grew a 4th point for next 4 years.
I would guess the buck Slider took a pic of is his offspring.

Cool Lowedog. Thanks for the update. Thats awesome. I'm not sure he has the best genes in the pool, but maybe he'll hump some doe that has mass and points coursing through her veins. Boom! Super monster.
-
I'm not sure but didn't DuckFvr pick up his sheds a year or two ago?

they really need to shut down that area to the public from accessing it until march or so, same with a few other areas, like up the entiat. to leave them damn deer alone, un neccesary pressure is not good at all. Looking is ok, but most of us know a lot of guys around here that will walk the deer to death, chase em with bikes and snowmobiles. and slider, sweet pictures man.
-
Wow, that's a great buck. There's lots of discusion on this deer over on the MM site.
-
The land up on top that was bought by the Land Trust will be or has been closed through March I believe. Eventually most of what they bought will be sold and we will probably see some sort of resort like Sun Mountain Lodge go in up there. They have stipulations in for the sale of the land that will let whoever buys it only develop 10 acres of it. Word is the Land Trust is shopping for a buyer that will put in a resort to cater to the mt biker/granola eating crowd.

-
i thought that they bought it and were/had to keep it as is for wintering grounds for the mule deer and stuff? crazy crazy if they turn around and sell it.
-
The land is to be sold in large acreage tracts with conservation easements which prohibit development. The end user can only develop something like 10 acres with restrictions on number of buildings etc. So unless the easement changed from the last time I read it there will be no development or resort.

That is a good looking 3-pt has to be the same genetics if it’s wintering in that area.

It snowed the night I found him and I spent two days lookin for him!!!Well it looked like the Chelan Co. Giant gave slider the slip!!!Well I thought that big ol boy musta met some big ol sassy doe and headed to the low country!!! I was right!!! I found him again this mourning!!!WFT is it no it couldn't be!!!
-
love it!
-
its cool to see the different gene pools right there. one that is super wide with not so many tines then one that is not so wide with more tines
-
Awesome pics!!! Keep them coming. Do you think he will make the 40" mark?

I didn't think there were any big bucks in WA, :chuckle:
-
I have a mount that is a clone of that deer Slider. My grandpa shot it in Oregon, it's a 3x3 and is missing the same back tine. It measures 39.5" wide and scores about 175". I do think the one you found might be a tad short of 40"...but that's only a guess from the supplied photos. Maybe someone will shoot him and we can figure out what he is. Nice find.
