Title: Went hunting with my dad today
Post by: Gobble on September 05, 2009, 11:06:38 PM
Both of us drew Multi season deer tags so we decided to go out today and do a little hunting/scouting near Cle Elum. We got a late start and didn't get to Cle Elum until 11:00 am. Saw close to 10 deer with 2 bucks. Had one smaller 3 pt at 20 yrds and both of us decided to pass on. Saw lots of elk sign, heard a turkey gobble. Saw 5 or 6 grouse. We found a family stuck near 3,500 ft in the mud driving a suburu. We pulled with a rope but the guy had no idea how to drive out of it and plowed right into a tree breaking the back window and smashing the rear door. We ended up driving them to Cle Elum to get a tow truck. The even had a Kerry Edwards sticker on the bumper. When all was said and done my dad told them not to freak out but you were just saved by 2 conservative Republicans, Were not all that bad are we  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

All in all we had a great time together, its cool to see my 66 yr old dad keeping up with me and still has the passion of a 25 yr old when it comes to hunting. :)

Sounds like a fun filled day!  Nothing like spending time with family in the woods. :) Gonna do that next week myself.

Can't beat that.  Makes me wish my dad was still around to enjoy hunting seasons with.

Sounds like a great day.  I hope you squeezed a couple old stories out of him while you were out there.
