I am a brand new bowhunter in the area and i have been looking for deer and seen very few deer and tons of bear sign. If you are a crazy person and want to get a bear with a bow just follow these directions.
In Belfair just follow Old Belfair Hwy. out to Bear Creek DeWatto Rd. and go left. Up the road about a mile is Tiger Lake Rd. go right. First orange and white gate on the right. Look for the deep ravines and there is beaver ponds all over the area as well as dark , wet areas.
Good Luck.

why dont you go get the bears with your bow? it is definitely a rush. i got my first one last week at 10 yards! i think everyone should try it once.

What did the bear do after you shot it? , other than die. :chuckle: I have been thinking about it but i hunt on the ground and i hear that bears are pretty dangerous to stick when on the ground. :bdid: I have no hunting experience so i hope i did not come off as stupid sounding.
I hope to get my first deer this year then maybe bears and definitly a cougar someday. Elk hunting sounds cool too.

Welcome to the lifestyle. I'm always happy when I hear of a new hunter. We need more like us.

I've hunted my arse off in this very area!! Hiking in behind the gates as far as I could get on my bike and on foot. It's a total MADHOUSE during modern but less pressure during archery. There will be 4 trucks at every wide spot and gate for modern. A buddy of mine lives at the bottom of Bear Creek road and hunts these cuts with Muzzy and says it's not to bad then either. I have seen a couple bears in the vicinity but was never quick enough to get a shot off. Here's the one my cousin killed last year just over the hill from there.
