Going to be go over to conconully around the 22 of this month to hunt some deer, going to be taking my wife out for her first deer trip with a bow. She has never been deer hunting and would really like her to get a deer. Just wondering how the deer herds are looking. If any one could give me any info at all it would be appreaciated greatly

Droptine...SHHHHH!! ;)
There are NO deer outside of Conconully, since the big fire..lol.
Not too sure they will ever get their population back up..lol.
My son pulled the private land hunt, Conconully 2nd deer tage so, we will be over the weekend that muzzie season starts and that tag will hopefully be filled. It is a doe tag and since we've NEVER seen a buck outside the city limits...we are hoping this year will be different! LOL ;)

Me too. My brothers uncle and his two bothers should be along as well. They've got two friends from Washtuknua and they decided to haul the RV with a brothers sisters boyfriend. He's got a 50 cal BMG and so he'll have a spotter along too. They being the nice folks they are's posted this hunt on Facebook so that folks could follow along on the super Conconully deer harvest 2009.
Look for it. If you listen real quiet like you just might hear em poppin off rounds from the BMG in the afternoon. Just get in there when theys done because there will be a heap of beer bottles to clean up and spent cartriges too.
You all from Hunt Washington can join em. Just follow the paper plates stapled up and down the roads with all the ballons. BYOB. Oh bring a few palets too.....they love to burn up everything and have a huge bon fire.
Hell ya.....lets all kill some deer in Conconully.

You;re really not going to do too much damage..sounds like the normal Conconully "get together!" lol.
However....
If you wanna really have fun and get things started..Bring the Willipa Bay Loggers back to town!! That was fun..and not to sure that many people get up for the early morning hunt after they're in town..lol

is there any duck/goose hunting in the area? seems kinda mountainous, but i've never been there during waterfowl season.
