Just sitting around drinking a few beers wondering what everyone drives when they go hunting. Sometimes I'll use my '79 Ramcharger, but mostly use my '91 Dodge CDT.
-
currently i have a 1/2 ton chevy, but prior to that i had a 3/4 ton chev diesel...got stolen out of the yakima canyon >:(. i really loved that truck. before that one i had a chevy...you see where this is going...
-
'89 chevy 1/2 ton short bed.Its old but payed for.
jim
-
94 ford ranger standard cab 2-wd 252,000 miles and still trucking. Been a great truck but in the market for somthing new.
-
2001 F350 crew cab 4x4 diesel 48000miles.
-
2001 black chevy 1/2 ton extened cab.
-
Toyota Tacoma some day a Toyota Tundra with a small pop up or Alaskan camper.
-
98 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab Sport Pulls the trailer full of dekes great!
-
Had a F250 superduty but just recently bought a 2007 Tundra. Good truck!
-
The best truck I ever owned was a Dodge Dakota. That thing was just plain amazing. I finally flat beat it to death. I replaced it with a Dodge Ram and did the same to it. It was nicer to have a little bigger truck, and that thing was also put through the ringers. I then replaced it with another ram, and I don't like it nearly as much. Too cityfied I guess. It just doesn't seem to get around as well, and it drves more like a car. I wanted to get a Ford 250 and should have.
-
2004 Dodge 2500 4 door, springs are stiffer than morning wood, will pass anything but a gas statioin, but gets me where I need to be!
-
will pass anything but a gas statioin
:chuckle:
-
2003 dodge Diesel quad cab. 65,000 miles on it. Pulls anything and get good mileage. Pretty stiff like fletch said but its a truck, not a car. :)
-
97 F350 Crew Cab with the 7.3 Powerstroke. Even with a fully loaded trailer of alfalfa or towing a boat, I can still beat anyone towing over the pass!
-
2000 Chev 1/2 ton extended. Love it, but would like a 2500 some day.
-
2 wheel Drive Ford Ranger Extended Cab Sport.
Hopefully going to get a 4WD when I get out to Washington just not sure what kind. Either Toyota Tacoma or another Ranger. Deffinatly not getting one of those Colorados.
Are they still running 4 and 5 cyl. in those things? They are junk!
-
This is my hay and boat haulin' mule.

I have a 03 Dodge CTD 4 door. My baby :P
If I wasn't so computer stupid I would post a pic.
-
E-mail it to me and I'll get it posted.
Jackelope...thats Fletch's ride. He gave me an idea though ;)
-
I'll get my real truck on here, but this baby did its job of getting me to Alaska and back.

Here is one from the past I stumbled on. Many cool trips happened in this beast.

-
Bone,
I'll get one to you in a couple of days, I'm gonna wash it first :chuckle:
Thanks for the offer!
-
love the green beast picture...probably took a few more days on the alcan with that beast, chains and gravel/mud
-
Wow Boneaddict that brings back the memories, that trailer had two moose in it, the axle was dragging the middle of the road most of three hours. I sure got some big eyed looks from the rigs I met when I finally got to the gravel road, but the wind drag was so bad I took the antlers down. That scout was a real work mule. Made many trips in that baby. :) :)The picture was taken near Grand Prairie Alberta.

79 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 shortbox.

'99 Dodge 1/2 ton, 318/5-speed manual. Good all-around truck that sees a lot of use in the hills.
I really like the fact that it was completely paid for years ago! :)
-
Nice pics! paid for is definitely a plus!
-
No kidding. I walked onto the Ford dealer's lot to check out a new powerstroke F-250... For $40k, or more, I could get one... Out of this boy's pay grade! Nice truck though...
-
I really really liked my '94 3/4 ton chev that was paid for. i knew where it had been, what work had been done to it, what minor glitches it had, etc. since day 1 of it's life till some bastages stole it along with my driftboat trailer out of the yakima canyon a couple years ago. >:(
:guns: :guns: :guns: :guns:
truck was found 2 weeks later in yakima, but totalled.
now i have a stinkin' car payment again. i love my truck now but hate my payment.
-
Damn Guy, thats "my truck" I was referring to earlier. Looks better with the canopy off and a moose rack in back though. ;)
-
Boneaddict - yup - I think your moose antlers look better than my little 3x3 mulie too! And I prefer driving the truck w/o the canopy - especially during deer season... Unless I'm living out of the back of the truck, which I've been known to do.
Trucks are mighty handy - darned shame they're so thirsty and expensive... Have considered going to a smaller rig, like a Ford Ranger or a Toyota Tacoma - but... This one is paid for and I know where it's been and what kind of care it's had...
Doggone V8's aren't going to be any fun to feed when gas hits $4/gallon - I may be taking the little Subaru wagon to Wyoming hunting this year... It gets 30 mpg... Your moose rack would crush it though!
-
Some of my friends can attest and so can Idabooner, I'm a little hard on vehicles. I traded in a Dakota which I absolutely adored for a bigger version. Basically your vehicle, color scheme etc. I added a Warn wench on the front of it which probably got me into as much trouble as it got me out of. I'll try to get the picture I am referring too so you know what I am talking about. There is nothing better than a sweet truck. Sometimes more dependable than the wife.
-
Here I was heading home from my first moose hunt. I think my paint job had suffered a few hits. Believe it or not, thats the same color as yours. Man I miss that truck. I'm just not liking my new one as much.
(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv47%2Fboneaddict%2Ftr1.jpg&hash=e55f81e61f83bd77caceaef76a6099120c496128)
-
I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say worn wench...better not let the wife see that! :P I think a warn winch will get you out of a few mud holes that a worn wench gets you into :chuckle: anyway....like I said earlier my hemi will pass anything but a gas station...the old ford was paid for but worn out...trucks are beautiful creatures! doug your old dakota was good until that rock that somehow got lodged underneath it!
-
I have a 2002 Ford supercrew.
-
96' Toyota Tacoma extended cab 4X4
-
Yeah, that was pretty embarassing. High centered in the parking lot.
Dang that was an expensive coyote outing. It never really did work quite right after that. Speaking of Worn Wenches, I was thinking this morning I've been through 5 trucks and only 2 wives, maybe its time to upgrade. :chuckle:
-
LMAO! It is 5 trucks and two wives for me too...come to think of it ;)
-
I know its alot cheaper to upgrade on trucks than it is wives.
-
i had 5 different trucks with my wife before i married her. i'm on #5 right now.
i don't keep them very long either by my choice or someone else's choice...(see prior post)
i'll be keeping this one a while. gonna pay it off here pretty quick.
-

-
2004 Toyota 4x4
-
2005 3/4ton Dodge Cummins Quad Cab.
Does ride stiff, but as said above, I wasn't looking for a car when I bought it. Great mileage and more power than a guy could need. Love this truck. :)
-
2004 Chevy 1500 4x4.
-
1988 small red Ford Ranger 2wd and makes a lot of noise. Barely makes it up hills at 45 MPH.

GO FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I do vehicles for a living, love the Toyotas. When you need a full size, you need a full size... but if you just need to get where you're going (No matter where it is) and get back, and pack your stuff, tow small trailers, etc...Toys are hard to beat.
A Chevy friend of mine once told me, "Real trucks Rattle!" Toyotas are the only rigs I've handled that don't make new noises when you get back on the pavement!
-
Look to see where exactly those Fords and Chevys are made, you might be surprised. The new 2007 Tundra is made in San Antonio,Texas and their engines are made in Troy, Mo. So what trucks are American made. I really like my Tundra than I did my F250.
-
"Real trucks Rattle!"
real trucks don't have spark plugs.
-
2001 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 V10
-
that truck's got a couple too many spark plugs.
:chuckle:
just kidding.

...and the Tacomas are made in California while a lot of Chevys are down in Mexico. I don't think there really is an "American Made" truck anymore.
-
2006 Red Chevy 3500 Crew Cab with of course the Duramax, just over a year old and got 33,000 miles, and the power to pull darn near anything made........ Just wait till I chip it...........
-
Now I must admit it doesn't ride like a new Chevy but it takes the Delta Junction, Alaska Bison like a champ...... A mobile cooler! Nothing like it, park behind a shady building and cover with a trap in the rain, always good when the temps are in the thirtys...
-
I drive a 2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 extended cab with the long bed. Its white in color and it blood really stands out on the sides of the bed in the fall, takes me on average over an hour to clean the blood off the sides of the bed and out of it it in the fall.

-
Here is my truck. 38.5 super swampers, 8 inches of lift, and a lot of blood stains in the bed. Oh , by the way my budy just went to a eyes in the woods meating and let me know that the vehicle that most poachers drive is a jacked up toyota 4x4 with big tires and a guy between the ages of 18 and 28. Thats what the game wardens are looking for. I"M NOT A POACHER!
-

I'll second , third , and forth that!

After owning Toyotas for the last ten years, I decided to upgrade in the power department. 07.5 Ram 2500 with 6.7 cummins. I had to go with a six inch Superlift and 37 inch Toyo mud terrains to get the look I was going for. Anyone who is contemplating getting a diesel, I cant recommend it enough, even if diesel is $3.50 a gallon :bash:

Nice truck Quaker. I'm glad there is another guy on here who isn't afraid to put a scratch or two in the clearcoat. I don't have much clearcoat left. Here is the ole beast with Idabooner and his quarry from last week.

-
My main truck is a 2001 Dodge 2500 cummins. Best truck I've ever had. My commuter/hunting truck is a 2007 Ford Ranger. They both get about the same mpg's. Diesel is just so expensive. >:(
-
Here is my dream truck.....
-
2001 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 360 V-8 2" lift w/33x12.50x15 Cooper Discovery
Used to be white, but with the trips over to the Northeast lately, I think it is actually brown............... :(
-
!996 Dodge Ram 1500, 3" lift.
-
Chev 3/4 Ton 6 liter every now and then. 95% of the time a Toyota 4 Runner, 4 banger, 5 speed with 202k for the last couple years. Totally stock other then a little larger tires 31". Never had a foreign vehicle in my life only full size Chevy, Ford, or Dodge both gas and diesel. This Toyota will go and has gone easier and farther then any PU I have ever had. Finally got used to sitting with my feet out in front of me, but this rig is awesome for out in the woods. Should have gotten one 15 yrs ago as soon as they came out with the four door. Now it is low on power for the road, can't pull much weight, but for a couple day hunt or a get around rig this thing rocks.
-

Yeah It's an odd feeling when you first start driving one. Kinda like driving a Go-Cart with a big lift kit. :chuckle:
-
03 chevy crew cab diesel for special occasions, and a 94 mazda b3000 for everyday and hunting.
-
Truck? I drive an 86 toyota celica! I got checked at a WDFW point last year and they were somewhat amazed at my neatly packaged buck in the trunk :chuckle:
If i need to get somewhere rough I'll drive the suburban.
