I keep breaking all the zipper handles on my pack, is anyone else having issues with this. I had to use a shoe lace off my boot to make new rings to open the pockets.
-
I just bought a badlands daypack and haven't really put it through the ringer yet. I sure hope yours is an isolated incident although I think I remember hearing that badlands has excellent customer service. You might give them a call.
-
I have had one for about a year and have had no problems. Before I bought it I did a lot of research and never heard of that as a problem.
-
I have broke a couple on my 2800, not enough of a problem to send it back but it sucks when they claim to be bombproof. I replced the zipper handles with zip ties.
-
No problems on mine or my son's.
-
Call 'em and tell 'em what the problem is. They will fix all their gear no questions asked, just pack it up after you get the OK and they'll have it back to you ASAP.

That sucks - sorry to hear it. I have 2 Badlands packs and I've absolutely thrashed the things. One of them has a hole in it from a knife, but that's the only thing that has gone wrong.
-
Busted couple zipper pulls on my Hyperday. About the only low-quality thing on the pack. Not worth my time to send it back to them (pluse figured replacements would just break anyhow). Replaced them myself with some cord. Zippers still work fine.
-
My Super Day Pack is less than a year old and has one broken zipper pull. Figured it's too much of a hassle to send in for one zipper pull. Other than that, I like the pack.
-
I have been using my pack for 4 years now and nothing has broke on me......................................yet :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Never had any problems with the zippers I will look at them tonight though. Four elk later and still going like the day I bought it. :IBCOOL:

Broke another ziper this weekend. They should have sent me a sample to run it through a test run. I will be carrying small zip ties from hear on out. Slipped some black surgical tubing over the zip tie prior to connecting to keep it from rattling. Same stuff you pick up in the fishing department. It works great.

I had this exact problem occur to me last season with only about 2 days of use. I bought the thing brand new and it simply snapped off one day. I have yet to send it back though I know they will fix it since they are guaranteed for life (that's why I bought that brand to begin with). It just seems like a hassle to ship it back for such an easy DYI fix. It's still frustrating it happened though.

I have broke off all but one of the small zippers on my 2800. I did replace them with some elk teeth and decoy string though :) :). It is annoying but I am not going to hastle with shipping it back. I put 90# of Mont elk meat in my 2800 and went 2 1/2 miles with no pack issues at all.
-
its the weak link on these packs for sure. >:(
-
When were all of these packs with broken zippers purchased? Mine are a bit older - maybe 5 years or so - and I've never had one problem. Are the packs with broken zippers all within the last couple of years?
I wanted a somewhat larger pack (thinking about the 2800) but definitely don't want the zippers falling off. Hopefully, with enough complaints, Badlands will fix that problem next year...
-
I sent off an e-mail to Badlands in regards to my pack zippers. I received an e-mail back to let me know that they have new zippers and they would send me some replacements.

I had some zippers break on mine and was promptly sent some new zipper handles to replace them. Quick shipping on them too. Just use the above contact info and leave a message with your address and a quick explanation of what happened. Very easy to deal with.

the newer badlands packs do have zipper issues, they also have latch issues. we have several of the older 2800's and have never had a problem. there are times when loading mine and putting it on that I think "why isn't this thing exploding". the old ones are bombproof, if you find a used one, buy it.
i hope they get everything worked out because they are an awesome pack with a great warranty but I doubt they'll bring you new buckles or zippers when you're loaded with 60lbs of meat 10 miles back in.

Broke one of my zipper handles last year on my super day. I'll need to contact that guy.
-
I have pulled them off too. I also had a buckel break. A friend pulled one off, and broke 2 buckels on the same day :dunno:
-
Never heard of this issue before and I own a slew of these packs. As mentioned, contact Issac or Danny and they'll hook you up! I will try to find out more about this and post an update.

Had a zipper break on my Superday as well- 1st day of the season. $20 to ship it back to them, $20 for return mail. No thanks, had my parachute rigger at work fix it.
-
I have a Superday purchased in April from Sportsmans Warehouse. Used it in Alaska this summer and some scouting trips. First day of modern rifle I get three broken zipper pulls. Other then that the pack has been great.
Must have been a bad batch of zippers that week or month. Thanks for posting a contact link.

I guess you will have to stay away from the zippers that were made on Friday afternoons. They must be clocked out mentally. :dunno:

I contacted Issac via email. Never heard back from him. I guess I have to call to get some replacements.
