Hey guys! im new and very excited to be a part of the forums! thought i'd start off by posting a pic that was taken at my house. My chickens and turkeys have been dissapearing left and right, so i set up my cam and caught him red handed!
-
shoot him.
welcome to the site.

Time for a snare or conibear! Oops, did I say that or think it? Tie one of those birds to a fence at the edge of your property late in the evening, sit and wait. Blap, blap, 2 caps in da hat!
-
This is one coyote thats been smart enough to only come out late at night...but he'll make a mistake soon enough!
-
thinkin about putting out a live varmit trap and see if i can get him
-
welcome......

Live traps don't work too good on Coyotes. I have never heard of one going into a live trap. If it was bobby it would be cake!! Good luck with the problem!!
-
Thats a Skinny looking dog,Hopefully you can whack him. :mgun:
-
wecome to the site were you ever able to kill it or is it still at large :mgun:
-
havent been able to spot him in daylight
-
Doggies may not go in a live trap... But if you rig the hen house to have a trap door, he'll go in. You'll lose some chickens in the process, but you'll also be able to kill the little *censored*. Rig up an alarm on the hen house door so you know when to go out with the lights and shotgun.
Did that a couple times when I was younger with chickens. Shot a Yote once then a Great Horned Owl. Wing span on the owl was more than six feet. Had to give the owl to the WDFW for their collection...

put out a llama and you will no longer have any K9 issues. 8)

This is not a recommendation nor would I do it. Back in the old days they would use treble hooks with pieces of meat on them tied up about 3 or 4 feet above the ground. Like I said I wouldn't do it myself but I guess back then their chickens were worth a lot more a old chicken thief, and nowdays we are more attune to ethical or humane treatment of animals.
-
These days they want us to sit down with the coyotes and try to reason with them and come to a compromise. I also wouldn't tie some meat to a live 220 wire either.

Neither would I, Now live 3 phase wires might be interesting
-
I know a guy that got nailed by 660 3 phase while cutting concrete in water. Killed him dead as a fart but it was just a few feet from a fire station and they brought him back.

Tie a chicken out in a field or pasture in the morning and hide in the brush. He or she will come :mgun: Mark

Save the chickens...save the chickens. Kill that coyote :guns: :hunter: :mgun: :mgun2:

put him out in that pasture and coyotes may not be the only thing out there to get him. :yike:
