anyone interested?
-
I am all about it when and where?
-
I would be all about it, but the odds of it working out with my upcoming work schedule, highly unlikely for me. I am still trying to coordinate a shed hunt with one of the boys on here.
-
Where are you thinking?
-
im in. tell me where and fatpats and i will be there.
-
I figure we could give it a week for everyone to speak up and find some middle ground and a neutral time. I am as far east as one can get but am willing to meet as far as say.....moses..ish.
-
Whats up with that!!! Only inviting the eastside guys. Whats wrong with the chubby little fat kid on the west side, too uncoordinated to join the team? :'(
Shades of elementary school all over again :chuckle:
-
yeah can the wet siders run over there if we want?
-
i think the basin would be great.
-
well I would not wanting the seattle crowd getting their bmw's stuck in a snow drift.......what the heck......its a free for all.
-
if us red-headed wetside stepchildren are invited, i'd be in depending on the schedule, and i'd probably have a couple other guys as well. will this be a team effort?
maybe a little eastside-westside blue/gray rivalry thing??
i wouldn't want to step on any eastsiders toes... ;)

Hunting contests (even amateur ones) are strictly prohibited by Washington law.
The last one somebody tried to put together, was shut down by the WSP and WFDW officers, during the pre-dawn sign-up.
Most attendees were held by these law enforcement groups until midday, while they ran checks, made threats, etc.
I'd advise you not to do anything like this "in the public eye", and to term it a "rendezvous", or a camp out, or something along those lines (like was done in 2001), with no mention of "contests".
The winner only stands a chance of winning a hefty fine, and so do all the others involved.

I think that would be the best part :dunno: :chuckle:

:chuckle: :chuckle: That's funny right there ... I used to own one and they get stuck in an inch of snow it sucked!!! And I lived in Milwaukee, Wi where they get just a little snow ;)

I seem to remember that chubby little kid you're talking about, you ... I I mean he never had a problem starting on any of my soccer teams .. Even when he was a somphmore in H.S!
-
Krusty,
Joined a couple of 'yote tourney's, and never seen a Fish & Wildlife Officer.....don't think they care as long as everyone is safe.
-
:drool::P Krusty. :P :drool:
-
It can be done. There is one in Warden every year. It has to be properly sanctioned. I don't know what it takes though? I'm in if it works out.
-
heck the way I see it if it is just for honor what is the harm.
as for east vs west......what kind of odds are you lookin' for. I'll give ya 3 ta 5, but when you lose you have give up your microsoft stocks and buy wheat.
-
how would you do it. do you find a lot of public land or do you find a lot of private land owners who want the dawgs dead. i may be able to help with some private land that is exceptional dawg hunting. we will 20 or so per day that we hunt. obviously some days are better than others but it is a very good area. about 6 sqare miles.
-
BearmanRick,
Have you got some actual words to say, or care to interpret your post?
Littletoes,
That's the funny thing about the WDFW, and the anti groups that might motivate the WDFW... they never seem to do the same thing twice.
I offered my advice based on personal experience, and my understanding of the laws. That's the best I can do.
Good luck with that.
Krusty :hello:

Thanks for the heads up Krusty, I think your right on. If its going to happen it shoud be kept a little quiet. In the PCA we have car tours that we have to call Show and Shines and its all for legal reasons. Maybe we could call it a Shoot and Shine :chuckle: First get together and shoot our guns then shine them all together afterwards ;)
-
normally around here we meet at a spot at a time in the AM and meet again somewhere by a set time in the PM.....most fresh dead dogs takes the "honor"
I HOPE MY SCOPE WILL COME HOME TO ME BY THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Ah have a merry christmas and a happy new year. Rick
-
lets have a barbeque and do some hunting and compare notes. all in good fun. i dont think it has to be a "contest" but a few guys showing each other their guns. i think it would be a good time.
-
Depending on when I will make the drive. Westside Style. LOL
-
i'd go ahead and leave the beemer at home and run my pickmup truck over there...some of us have them on this side too...oh and i already own wheat too...no microsoft stock here... ;)
-
east side will provide beef for the grill and wet side can bring crab. sounds good. maybe even some organic salad or something.
-
crap! I only have elk meat.
-
don't think they care as long as everyone is safe.
Whether they (the WDFW) care, or care to enforce the law, remains to be seen.
WAC 232-12-169...
Unless the terms and conditions, of the preceding passage of law, were met... the law was broken, even if no enforcement action or charges came from it.

I'm interested, just depends when and where.
Now that the AR knows what it's after I have a decent chance. :)
-
how about we have our own hunt on the wetside. i get tired of the wetside stuff. Rick
-
eastside coyotes are bigger...some go 150 pounds. ;)
(That might really get the non-sanctioned-non organized event participants in trouble though)

I'm sure someone can look it up and quote it for us, but I beleive I recall recently reading in the new law passed for conduct on WDFW land, any gathering of more than 30 people on WDFW owned or controlled lands, requires a permit from them....ain't that some BS!!! guess we'd have to keep a count and once more than 30 people showed up we'd have to ask them to stand a way from us, that way they could be considered their own group.... :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
oh yah, and I'm a wetsider, with an SUV that is willing to show up for a hunt, either on the wet or eat side... :IBCOOL: :chuckle:
-
They say the bank's lake area coyote's are some of the nicest. Rick
-

Not only WDFW lands, but DNR as well. I am not sure of the number, but DNR has had limit/permit type deal for a long time. I just took a quick look and could not find it.
-
the good news is there is never gonna be more than 2 guys on the same piece of land....no matter how many holes only one guy/team gets to claim it.
-
wastickslinger and I did a derby last year and over 70 teams entered. We hunted the whole night (admist my food poisining :puke:) We hardly ran into anyone. Every once in awhile we would see a spotlight or two a mile away or so.

Participated in a couple of larger turneys, but they are getting so expensive ($60 per Person), so I haven't in a while, but while hunting I never saw anyone. Folks scatter, meet up at a designated spot, then meet up later in the day and show off your catch.
Sure was fun though, and got to meet a bunch of good guys.
-
getting close to having a plan put together. I am thinking of a full moon weekend and deffinately soon enough to be in the snow and peak calling.
-
keep me posted i am looking forward to this.
-
all right guys lets hear what weekends work or don't work for you. add your location and we can try to make it good for the majority.
-
This sounds like fun, I will keep checking to see when this will happen. :IBCOOL:
-
The weekend of 1/12 and 1/13 is the same time as the Idaho calling contest. Are we looking at a one or two day event?
-
im good about any weekend. are we thinkin about a 24 hour or 36 hour hunt. i think the basin from moses to othello royal city area would be good.
-
I don't really want to sit on dogs for 36hours...but lets go with the majority.
-
I'm down for 24 hrs.
-
but you're not an eastside guy...
;)
-
I say 5:00 am check-in and a 6:00 pm weigh-in. Two man teams, no splitting up to hunt. This way folks could enjoy a nice campfire together and maybe some dinner. If this is just for fun, I don't really want to stay awake for 30 hours straight.
-
I am down no matter when JB
