Title: Velvet
Post by: yelp on October 03, 2009, 03:56:00 PM
My buddy just shot a nice muley with velvet..the velvet looks dried on antler not soft..My question is he wants to get it mounted and I also want to get the head and cape froze.  Is it alright to put it in freezer or is there a process involved.  We don't want to screw it up.. Thanks..

Get it in the freezer, that is the best way right now to preserve it. Until you get it to someone that can take care of it for you

If it freezer burns than we send it off to get freeze dried.

Thanks everyone...We put it in the freezer.  The velvet on this buck wasn't spongy or raw, it seemed hard.

Thanks again.
