-
My dogs are ready..they can't wait either.
-
I go deer hunting...then when I get back everything has settled down, my buddies know where the birds are, and then I get to go shoot ducks. I have and still will jump shoot some ditches/creeks/ponds for ducks while deer hunting in the middle of the day with my shotgun...
-
Already got the decoys out and started working on one of this years hunting blinds. I got pics of it but can never get them to work on here. My lab thinks he's ready to all i got to do is get the shotgun out and he goes nuts. He forgets that he is ten years old and cant hunt like he did but he still tries just as hard.
-
Got the swampthing all ready, the steel shot lined up....and am now waiting for rain....gotta wait for deer season to end too!
-
Was out yesterday and seen close to 200 mallards and and another 100 or so of an assortment. Sat down and just listened to talk for about an hour.......... Yes, I'm ready for the season.
-
I've been getting the new boat (14 foot livingston) painted and a blind built. Went down towards the mouth of the Columbia river last weekend and we saw alot of ducks. The low tide opening morning is going to be tricky but we will manage. May have to leave the dock around midnight to avoid getting caught by the tide out in one of the mud flats. Can't wait.
-
I might whack a deer opening day, then agian i might knock some ducks out of the sky. Still not too sure, I am almost positive I can bag a deer after school during the week, and there will be way less pressure than the weekend

Lets just hope the birds get down here a little earlier than last year....but man I cant wait.
-
Both of my dogs and me are so anxious to get out there and whack the quack. My wife is anxious too... she wants the season to start so that I will shut-up about it :)
-
I'm pumped to try out my lab for the first time! I hope the rain that is forecasted shows up, the ducks are not flying like years past. Seeing decent numbers of geese though! Saturday morning... Me, my dog, and the pond!!!

I like to just put a nice steak rub or montreal steak seasoning on my duck and goose breasts and cook them on the grill like a steak. Rare. good and juicy. serve with mashed potatoes and veggie of choice. good eats-

i'd love to get into some duck hunting, and i have some ideas of where to start, but don't have a clue what i'm doing. :P
-
On the 25th I am going duck hunting with a friend of mine from work. This will be the first time I have ever duck hunted and when we talked about getting everything setup for dates and such, I was ready to leave as soon as the phone call ended. I am stoked about getting to try duck hunting. :rockin: I hope I am not as bad at hitting ducks as I was the first time I ever shot a round of trap (2 out of 25) :bdid: . I went and bought stell shot and a sling for my shotgun and even a mesh mask deal (on sale $5 wal-mart. gotta love things on sale! :IBCOOL: ) Good luck to all of you hunting make sure you leave enough of the slow flying ones for me. :chuckle:
-
just keep your head down and give them 2-3 times more lead then you think you can. it is 20 times harder to shoot too far ahead of the bird then it is to shoot behind it and if you are too far ahead of it you have a better chance of the bird flying into a stray pellet and knocking it down.
