Well...he did it! Jake pulled the 2nd deer tag for Conconully and filled it up!! I was so proud of him. He had a couple jitter shots the night before but, on this one he redeemed himself. He shot her right behind her armpit and took out her heart and one lung..she did a nose dive. She was a really nice sized Whitetail with no fawns..which was nice.
But I'll be darned...There aren't any bucks there ;)

Sorry...had to show the tounge one first..Boys:)
-
Very Cool! Congrats and cool pic too! :) May I ask where you found camo in the kids sizes? I have been looking for some quality stuff for my 13 yr old. Cabelas didn't even have a very big collection.
-
man that's cool. memories that you both will have for a lifetime. congrats to your son!
-
Thats awsome...nice job there jake  Nice pic too.
-
I love it! Great Job dude...

CHSNGSTLHD... EBAY is a great place to find kids camo. Search for kids camo, or cabelas or another brand. I have found tons of stuff real cheap for my seven year old. The older kids are a bit tougher and not as cheap but there is lots of stuff be patient and look after the season.
sorry about the :jacked:
-
Congrats Jake, Mark
-
Nice job young man.
-
He will be grinning for days and will never forget, that is so true. The big jacket he is wearing is his Dad's..he had to take it off for the gut job. But, the jacket under it we got most of their stuff at Joes but the new Holiday Mart and Jaegers up in Bellingham have some nice stuff. My 13 year old can fit into Adult Small usually is just longer than the YXl.

But..he was laughing so hard. She was a good size deer, So...Dad had to help!!

Thanks Charlie and everyone else who has posted. I know this will be the best deer this year for us, even if someone in the family gets one with a big rack! It was a fun one. If his older brother gets his first buck though...it will be a tie :IBCOOL:

My son (9 years old) drew a doe tag for Conconully-modern and I hope he has the same success. I am new to that area and was thinking about Sinlahekin Valley?? Congrats Jake!

One thing we found interesting is that Jake is shooting a 243 100 grain bullet and she was 50 yards away and there was no exit wound. Anyone have any reasons why that is??
-
SWEET!!! Off and running now. Great to see pictures like that.
-
Well...we just got a call from the butcher...
Jake's Whitetail doe weighed 117lbs dressed out!! She was a big one for sure..
He hasn't heard yet because he is at school but he will be proud all over again..lol ;)
