Title: WDFW-DEIS Wolf Conservation and Management Plan for Washington

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has published a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) titled: Wolf Conservation and Management Plan for Washington. This is a non-project review proposal.

Agencies, affected tribes, and members of the public are invited to review and comment on this DEIS. We must receive your comments within 95 days of the date of issuing this DEIS. This means we must receive your comments no later than 5pm on January 8, 2010. Please see Fact Sheet for details on availability and other methods of commenting.

Comments can be submitted electronically at: http://www.wdfw.wa.gov/hab/sepa/sepa.htm

Based on comments received from agencies and interested parties during public review of this draft document, WDFW will prepare and distribute a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). The FEIS will be released in 2010.

The dept decides a goal then makes as presentable a case supporting their goal in a bullet proof way.
Then they set up committees containing public often hand picked by them. Or have public meetings in regions to gather so called input.
Now that everyone feels involved with some say, the dept implements the plan with the original goal.

I sure hope this changes because it seems that when the funding changed at the dept so did the goals and attitudes. Working with the public can be a drag in any occupation but these guys applied for the position & pay. So I just wish they would keep the attitude against hunters toned down a bit. They sure promote wildlife viewing at the feeding stations though.

Most of us already have plans and other commitments based on months of anticipation and preparation. It is tough to miss a short season you have waited all year for.

They only want you to think they have a say.......YOU DON"T! Those meetings ran on the neighborhood of 85-90% in favor of the decoys, and all we got was a little card thanking us for our input, and a littl p.s. stating that next year the decoys would be illegal. They don't give a chit about us, or the game animals, plain and simple. :bash:

:yeah: People are going to wise up to what you just said in the next few years. The wolves are going to be killing all the game where ever they are released. The joke is on the pro-wolf people who live in places like the Methow Valley. They will get to see first hand what living with the wolves is really about. I think there will be some real sorry people, wondering where all those wolves went that were so shy, and only killed the sick and the weak.
