Since we finished my buddies Idaho moose hunt early, I decided to go on a photo safari for the rest of the week.

I was trying to find a big bull moose, which I did, but I couldn't get close enough to him for good pics. I had to settle for a few close ups on some moose calves. On the hike back to my truck, I spotted some sheep and goats. After a little climb, I was in amongst them.

Great pics! Pretty unusual seeing a goat and a ram in the same picture - that's really neat.

Last day in Montana. Found some elk to go along with the deer shots. No bucks today. The whitetail spot was fogged in all morning. :(

Great shots Jon! Glad you were able to find some of the animals I told you about. I forgot to mention those goats and sheep you found but it looks like you found them on your own. I think my wife and I saw that same bull moose in the exact same spot, was he basically straight downhill from those sheep/goats? I really love the picture of the ram with a goat behind it, also of that cool non-typ elk! Good job!

Jon, looks like you had a very productive & fun time in Montana. I especially appreciate the variety in the images posted here. Sheep, moose, mulies, whitetails, elk, and mountain goat - wow! - that's 6 different ungulates in one trip! I think my favorite is the Mulie doe feeding on the berries.
