Title: Deer mount is done!
Post by: couesbitten on October 10, 2009, 12:02:19 AM: Well, today we were having a party at the house to celebrate my son's 14th birthday. This morning my buddy, who is also a taxidermist, called and said that my son's buck from last year was done. I went and picked it up and added it to the list of items that this spoiled kid was getting as a gift. Buck turned out great.

Here's the three muley bucks that currently occupy this wall. Upper left, Gavin's '06 buck / upper right, my '05 buck / bottom center, Gavin's '08 buck.

Who did the work for you?

His name is Trent Mooney, and you can reach him at 509-554-1720. The two bucks on top were done by a gal out of Pendleton, but she has passed away. I'm thinking that Gavin stands a pretty good chance of having a shot at another buck of this caliber this year, but we'll see.

Yes, the taxi did strip off the remaining velvet and add some color to the antlers. No, a pic of this buck and my son was never in Eastman's. And yes, all three are WA, public land bucks. Can't wait for next Saturday.
