depends I have a buddy that has had three multi-tags for Elk and I've applied every year and this was my first year being drawn for multi-elk.

I've been applying for deer and elk since they came out.  I've gotten the deer every other year (it just worked out that way) and gotten the elk once.  This year is the "off" year for me, I guess.

i got the elk this year. my 4th year applying. i dindnt need it. but i did use it to put in for east side hunts. i shot my bull last tuesday during the early muzzy hunt. that is what i normally hunt every year. so it was 162 dollars wasted for me. but you never know. someday you might need it.

I drew a multi deer this year and I am already tagged out.  I just could not hold my water for the rut.

I'm not sure either. I have drawn the deer twice. This year i drew the elk and deer. I should have held out for late deer but stuck a buck the second day of archery season. What a waste of $162 but elk hunting has been fun. Lot's of elk just no opportunity to take any ethical shots. Good luck to you.
