You bought a DAY PACK that weighs 6.8 pounds EMPTY?

 :sry:

Good lookin pack, I'm kinda thinkin you got ripped off.  Every pound counts.

My daypack weighs in at 2.8 pounds, is just a tad smaller that yours. The Badlands Diablo which appears to be quite comparable in size and features to what you have is only 2.8 pounds.

I wonder if that 6.8lbs is with a full H2O bladder? If not, thats a heavy pack empty, water weighs 8.35lbs per gallon..

My buddy has this pack.  On the opener of muzzy, we struggled to tie on meat bags for the pack out.  No room for a quarter either.  This sucked even more for me.  If you don't plan on packing out weight or tying rigging off it, it would probably be a pretty nice pack. :twocents:

Jim had those packs at the Elk calling class that I attended.  I looked it over pretty good, well built, more built for packing elk out than a day pack though. There were pretty spendy but you are buying a "Jim Horn Signature Series". :P   :dunno:

It isn't a Badlands bottom line. 8)

I'll admit, my day pack is not designed to carry meat out.

The canadien is a great pack. Had mine now for 2 years. Only downside is that it isn't water proof. Who cares about weight. It will only make you stronger. Blacks Creek packs are worth the money.

Backwoods,
Thats a great deal on that pack!I have the alaskan As for it being waterproof in rain showers youll have no problems.I was just talking to sandy one of the owners it has 3 layers of material i forgot what she said they all were.Jim horn uses them up in the yukon and has no problem keeping his stuff dry.The reason its not 100% waterproof is the needle holes from sewing. You will enjoy that pack it will carrie everything you need
