I need some Blackcloud before Sat. morning. Does anyone know where I can find some in the Everett area?
-
dont know what it is.I usually have one looming over me
-
is there a Sportsmans or a Cabellas near there???....I did a small search...and I got lost...sorry
-
sportsmans carrys it and I think wallmart does also, I would not worry to much about getting black cloud I think its a gimmick more then anything
-
I agree.. :yeah:
-
I am sure it works pretty good ....but how much better is it in dollars??? that is the question....for me I just stick to regular BB ...in 3 1/2 ....(usually kent or hand loads) ....tungsten when I'm feeling like spending money

I use Blackcloud. They are made by Federal. Good ammo for ducks. Costs about $20 to $24 for a box of 25. Wal Mart carries Federal, but I don't know if they have Blackcloud. Check Sports Authority in Lynnwood. They are carrying guns and ammo now. Cabelas for sure has it. I bought some in Mt. Vernon at Holiday Sports.
Hope this helps.

the tulalip wal-mart had black cloud last week.
-
wholesale sports in burlington would be a good bet too

Kent Fasteel™ is $7-10 a box cheaper and 200fps faster!
-
Saw some today at Mcdanials Do-It center in Snohomish.
-
Hey Goldeneye, how much were they at McDaniels? I live just north of Snohomish.
Good to know, I didn't they carried them.
-
As you know McDaniel's is more expensive now since they pretty much have the local hunting market cornered for our area with Joe's & Jerry's going down. I either saw $27 or $29 a box. I believe all they had left in stock for Black Cloud was 3.5" BBB & #2 shot size. Too rich for me to consider.
-
It's not the FPS that cause black cloud to be more effective, it's the way the pellets are shaped and the damage they do. IMO they knock down birds much better then normal steel.
-
Maybe I'm just too poor. I have a hard time justifying the $23-$26 a box compaired to the Bi-Mart weekly specials...$10.49 for faststeel #2 in 3".
Getting cheeper in my old age.................

I'll tell you, I am in the same boat this year, not really being able to justify it....but I still had a box from last year and I was reminded today when a straight on shot at 45 yards folded a mallard dead in the air. I heart BC.

Sports Authority = No.
Walmart Lynnwood = No
Walmart S. Everett = No.
Walmart Tulalip = Yes!
Thanks for all the replies. I’ve not had much luck getting clean kills on pheasants with Kent, they hit the ground running need a follow up shot and I’ve lost a couple of birds. I switched over the Win X-pert and they seem to do a better job. The X-perts did well on ducks yesterday too.
Maybe the BC isn’t any better but I picked up a box of 3” BB for geese so I’ll find out for myself. $22 a box, but if I only have to shoot the bird once and not twice, it’s worth it.
-
what size shot have you been using on the pheasants? I use #4 and have no problem folding them up. what choke tube are you using.
-
Black Cloud shells consantly jam up my gun, so I stick to Kent FastSteel 3" #2 for duck and BB for geese.Gun ses to like them better!!

3" Kent #2 - Modified choke
I switched to 2 3/4" Win X-pert #4 with an IM (different gun) and improved the situation.
-
the 2 3/4 Winchester Xpert BB fly at 1550 fps and work great on geese and ducks... and are $10 a box, sometimes cheaper at the White Elephant.
-
i tried them a bit. I think they cut through the ducks a little better, but not worth double the price.
I did a material comparison if anyone wants to see
