Title: Looking For Deer Hunting Partner To Hunt GMU 460 Weekdays
Post by: Savage3006 on October 18, 2009, 09:43:06 AM
Anyone want to hunt deer in GMU 460 (Snoqualmie) with me this week Tues, Wed or Thurs (or all of those days)? Not camping out, just day hunting. Been a member on this site for a while and am an experienced hunter. Prefer a serious hunter(s) like myself who actually wants to get something this year. I have scouted out a few spots that seem promising in the Snoqualmie Unit. Hunted there yesterday and saw lots of sign but no bucks came out to play. Please PM me and I'll get right back with you. Good luck everybody! Thanks! Brian :hello:

Hunted GMU 460 all last week and weekend and so far, nothing. Saw a lot of fresh sign and scrapes. Still looking for someone to share a hunt with on weekdays. Hiked into the permit area and nothing there either. Going to keep on it. Late buck sounds like best bet for sure.  :dunno:

Savage,

Did you get anything, or even see actual a deer?  I was in 460 on the Hancock property, both sides of the county road and didn't see anything besides people with a key to the gate.  I was on foot walking.  Went in on the weekend and during the week, on 4 separate days.

The only time I was something was driving in, a small group of elk in someones pasture just inside the North Bend city limits.  :bash:

Used to hunt 460 back in the day, gotta glass them clearcuts and glass some more, deer will just appear in them.
I dont think 460 is open for the late rifle hunt.. (im at work and can not check the regs).
You might try walking into 460 from the Griffen creek access point..

Just got back from 460. Hunted all day from daybreak. Saw nothing until driving out. Next to the big bridge near the road closure, there is a gated road heading south. I glanced to my left down the road and spotted a buck trotting down the middle of the road away from the entrance gate heading south. I parked my truck and we grabbed our guns, loaded them and headed down the road in hot pursuit. The buck was about 300 yards ahead of us and didn't seem to take any notice. The road winds to the right and the buck disappears from sight while still running on the road. We rounded the turn and the buck was way up ahead and had stopped just in front of the treeline to the right. We slowed our approach and he was watching us at this point. As we got closer, he turned and ran into the treeline. We got to the treeline and went in. It was right next to the river and very steep with a drop off. There was no way we could follow the path he took. I tried to call him in with my grunt tube but he was gone. Looked to be a 2 or 3 point. Very large from far away. Too bad no late buck season here but we rented a cabin in Elbe and I'm looking forward to sharing another great hunting experience with my new and old hunting buddies. Good luck to all who still haven't filled their deer tags! Time for elk now!  :hello:

Yep, we went in from there but saw nothing. Found the deer highway but no deer. Frustrated!  :bash:

I know the gate well.  Walked around it three of the four times.  Stayed along the river two times.  The third time,  went down to where the road spurs off and goes up the hill to spur 14(?)  Had a good view of the floor from there, but couldn't find anything with the bino's.  Maybe next time.
