Title: Predator Rifles...
Post by: littletoes on December 29, 2007, 09:06:57 PM
I imagine that everyone has seen or heard about the Savage Predator Rifle.  Its a good looking rifle too, but I have quite a few Remington 700's, and would prefer to keep most of them the same.

I was looking through an on line catalog, and noticed a Remington 700 Predator rifle, yea, maybe its a copy cat of the Savage rifle, it was camoed and short for fast handeling.

The Problem? I can't seem to find this rifle anywhere! Anyone else seen it???

I was looking at the Remington site last night, I see they are making an AR15 also  :chuckle:

Seen that a few months ago (the AR), but I'm interested in the bolt 700. Saw it on an on-line catalog, think it was called the "Predator", but am unsure of that.

For some reason my 'puter won't let me on Gun Broker, but I don't imagine that there will be one on there.

I imagine that a Youth Model would be perfect, and they have a camo model available now. Just wish they had some left-handed Youth Models available....my youngest son is a lefty/left eye dominent.

Ya I just looked at that, they don't have anything for youth in lefty  :bash:. That sucks my daughter is right handed/ left eye. I am teaching her to shoot lefty.

why not build one...lefty stock, buy a barrel, buy the right action...700 parts are everywhere, not too expensive, unless you want it to be.

I've got a couple of lefty HS Precisioin stocks laying around, the problem is getting an action.

Remington actions just arn't laying around, and finding a lefty is like finding a needle in a haystack. I can get a new rifle for around 350 bucks, in that HORRIBLE SPS stock. Man are those things el-cheapo! Hollowed out ABS P.O.S.

I'd just like to see a Remington Predator, if it indeed exists.
I think we all know how to build one though.

Are you talking about the Remington 700 Varmint rifle? If so, Joe's carries it. Most stores don't have it in stock, but I believe Kirkland has one in .223 and I know Bellevue has it in stock in .22-250.  :)

I might be wrong but I don't think the Remington 700 Predator is out yet, anywhere.

not sure. i was at the grocery store last night and on the mag. rack, there was this remington buyers guide type mag. i thumbed through it while mrs. told me i didn't need another magazine, and there was a picture of it and it's stats. it did say the price was "to be announced" so i assume it is not available yet...

Thanks Mossback, I checked it out.

But to find a lefty 700 with a heavier barrel, maybe 20" long, I'll have to get a smith to build one.
