Got a couple of new calls from Santa this year, and I sure like the sounds of the Knight & Hale "Double Threat", and one by Primos, the Randy Anderson "Hot Dog".
Have another one by Knight & Hale, the Ultimate Predator I, but the sounds of the first K/H I mentioned are very easy to make, and easy to keep "low", which I like to start out with in case any animals are close by.
Most of my older calls take quite a bit more lung pressure, which can give you a work out, and they don't respond well to soft blows, which makes it harder to keep calls "softer". Both K/H calls are very easy to master, which is very cool in my way of thinking.
The Primos UP-I is going to take a bit of practice, but the sounds sure are "there". Can't wait to get 'em out and give them a try!
No custom calls as of yet....I don't think I'm good enough yet to deserve one, but maybe in a couple of years! ;)

Are these closed reed or open?

Both of the Knight & Hale are closed reed, the Primos is open.
Been playing with the Primos one a bit, it doesn't seem that hard to bark or call. Gonna be fun, just got to get out! ;)
