I had a great weekend- 27 quail, a pheasant, and a bobcat.  The cats going to the tannery!

Lucked into it...i saw her from the road and went after it with the caller.  she wasn't interested, so i tracked her to the cliffs she was hiding in.  I found her in a ~4" crack in the rocks, but couldn't shoot because i'd never be able to get her out...So i poked her with a stick and piled snow all over her until she moved foward to a good position...then she shot out like a bullet into another crack in the cliffs.  I managed to find her again and took a shot at about 6 feet.  This whole show took about 3 hours, i was a tired puppy when i finally got her!
She weighed aroud 25 lbs.
I'm going to have her tanned, i would have liked a body mount, but i had to shoot her in the head to make SURE she wouldn't crawl forward into another crevice where i wouldn't be able to reach her.

I killed her with the .204 at about 2 yards, the shot was at the base of the left ear and mangled to top of the head.  I don't think it would have been easy to repair.  Hopefully someday i'll get another to have a good mount on.

 Head shots are not the greatest thing for a mount.

Sounds and looks pretty bad.  I've had pretty good size holes blown in stuff that I have been able to fix but when your talking about the head and face area.  Having to piece together hide doesn't work as well because of the shorter hair.

Next time you see a kitty don't shoot it in the head. ;)

:( I changed my avatar pic but the picture on my website of the open mouth deer I did.  It had a hole in it that I could put my fist through.  Had about 6" of sewing to do to get it closed up.  actually I just looked and it is on my front page.  I am pretty sure the hole is on the same side that is showing.

Laying down, those are Nice.  I also like the form they have wherer the bobcat is standing on one leg leaping after some finda bird.

Yeah!  She does a good job, flushes and retrieves. She shows birds well and let me know when to be ready.
