Im not sure but this thing was huge. I was thinking maybe someones dog but I was way out in the middle of nowhere miles from anyones house in the northeast.
-
All 5 toes on the front would make that a bear carcass. :dunno:
-
Yep, small bear.
-
Just by the look of the paw I would say that is no dog or no wolf. Looks like a bear paw to me. :twocents:
-
That's kind of a cool find. Makes for good pictures.
-
Bear skull and paw
-
Wow I feel stupid we did find grey hair around it though. Threw me off.
-
bear,it is related to the dog family though
-
what ever it is, cool find. i like it when i find stuff like that. keeps things interesting.

The gray hair may have come from the contents of its stomach.
-
Definately a bear.
That is really cool. Feel lucky that you found a pretty near complete bear skeleton, with so many bears in the woods I bet not more than a couple guys on here can say they found a bear skull let alone a whole skeleton, Great find
-
Iv;e found a couple of bear skeletons out in the woods......All at the end of a hunk of lead I throw at them. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
100% BEAR.
-
cool find...wonder if it died of natural causes or was wounded and never recovered....bearski no doubt.
-
a small bear 4 sure
-
At least you asked and took good pics instead of just telling everyone you found one.
-
Where is Dman..... it could be a bobcat!

Excellent job!

Now Dat's Phunny!! :chuckle:
Also look at the shape of the canines. A dog/wolf's teath are not as curved or as thick at the bases. The width of the eye socket leans more toward a Bear scull also. As some have said, the five toes, but also the shape of the foot stands out to me.
Concensus... Bear.

Yep, bear...

looks like a hunter kill that wasn't recovered. if it died of natural causes it would have been more like a bedded bear situation not over the log. i know scavengers could have moved it but when it a scavenger situation normally you wouldn't have a complete skeleton

That was my thought too let.it.fly.

Actually, no matter what the cause of death was, having a full skeleton is odd anyway. Yotes feed on things and move bones/meat all over. I'm thinking that that thing, shot or not, got snowed on really quick.

Cool find, I too would say bear. I found a bear skeleton last spring, not to common!
-
Da bears.
Ditka!
-
100% Small Bear.
-
The foot tells me it's a bear. ;)
-
Good observation let it fly
-
That is a cool find. I have never heard of anyone finding a bear carcass. I dont know if anyone can tell me for sure but I heard a bear skeleton basically disenegrates in a short amount of time just like a pig skeleton.
-
I haven't noticed anything like that 180. They seem to last just as long as anything else out there.
-
its a black bear not only by the front paw but looking at the skull the small teeth behind the k9 these teeth are removed for dow purposes after harvesting
-
I think I see the cause of death there is a whole rifle cartridge lodged in it's skull. :tung:
