Title: Saw the big 1
Post by: duckfvr on October 28, 2009, 11:58:41 AM
I finally saw a big mature mule deer here in the desert unit last night. I know were he is and he isnt going anywere. I am trying to get some pics, all i have is cell phone pics and they r not very good. Now all i need is someone with the desert tag or maybe i will just wait and find his sheds. He has 6 piont on 1 side and 4 on the other (not counting eye guards or stickers points) swollen neck and he is primed for the does. If i could figure out how 2 post a cell phone pic and blow it up or zoom in u will c his frame it is huge.

Good luck.  I saw a really nice 4 X 6 in the desert last year.  Wonder if it is the same one (or maybe related)?

I tried to zoom in on the pic to get a better idea but the resolution is WAY too low.

Tried to zoom in, but not enough definition.   Looks like a big tall frame from what I can tell.

I know people have to work and all but man if I drew this tag I would have been out there opening morning chasing bucks and I would have no plans of anything different until either I filled my tag or the lst day rolled around.  :twocents: This unit requires alot of time and patience.

Good luck to the tag holders.

Duck- would you get me some better pictures already....crap!! :chuckle:

Ageed.

I felt a little lazy for scouting for only 4-5 day prior but I have all this week and then some too look under all the rocks in the desert.   I'm just torn atm as to whether i should bring my sled with me or not.  I hear it can be quite nice when it comes to hauling out a buck now and then.

Looks to be a decent buck but if I'm drawing that tag I think I would pursue something with a little bigger spread  :dunno:

Not the same one that I saw last year.  The one that I saw last year was also not super wide but VERY tall and had antlers as thick as your wrist.

There are some great bucks in that unit.  Good luck to all who drew that tag!

Cant see the spread in the picture. In fact cant tell much more than the outline of the frame.

The cell phone picture MuleySniper posted if from Duck, that is the big one he is speaking of. That is a different buck than the one he posted walking away. The one walking away is about a 140 class buck, the other one....?????. Maybe we'll find out soon.
