Title: Bone and Booner
Post by: boneaddict on October 31, 2009, 07:07:35 AM
Always a great day to team up and chase Muley bucks.  Its always fun to sneak out right after the season to see who made it.  We ended the day with this guy.  Unfortunatly the camera man didn't capture it on film very well. LOL  Shooting light was done and we were blazing for home.  I had spotted a couple deer at the bottom of the hill and was closing on them in the truck when I looked to the left and on the skyline was this massive animal.  I knew it was a buck just from his posture and size.  He was SOOOOOO majestic standing up there.  Made him look three times as big as he really was.  I bailed out of the truck, dropped to a knee and fired a pic.  The camera snapped in slow motion.....crap, got bumped to a different mode.  Put in on the right mode and the *censored* turned his head.  LOL  Lots more pics to come but the chain around my neck is tightening.....

Beauty of a buck. Very nice to know some make it for next year and to do some breeding. Although all of us pesky archery guys with tags burning a hole in our pockets really appreciate these pic's

Very nice Bone. Much appreciated!

Oh it was intense.  The buck stepped behind the hill and the pursuit was on.  Made it to the hill with the truck and then out the door and up the hill with the camera.  Idabooner saw a deer go behind some rocks up above so thats where my attention was focused.  I popped over the knob and who was there to greet me.  The buck at about 10 yards.  OOOOps.  Camera up, pulled the trigger and the flash came out.  WHAT...... fired a pic, then checked...camera bumped AGAIN. LOL

Yep, she spent 3 hardcore days in really nasty weather, then decided home was where she wanted to spend the rest of her vacation.

Good for her to stick it out for three days that can be absolutely brutal/miserable.

Nice outing and photos Doug.  Nothing better than a big muley with a swollen neck.
