How about a pic of your Washington buck as you walked up to him. No stories, just the photo!
Also, who see's the bullet path?
-
Looks like he was trying to hide from you under that log! :)
-
This is from a few years back but this is how I found this one ... all I did was put my gun down so I could take the pic!

That's a awesome deer!
-
Also, who see's the bullet path?
A person with lots of time on there hands. After I look at the rack the next thing I search for is the bullet hole. Call me crazy but I just like to see where people shoot their animals.
-
Not the best angle, but the only one I took. 10/24, blacktail
-
Bullet path?
Looks like a little trickle coming out in front of the shoulder on the top side. What bullet where you using?

That's it. You can see the crease in the hair (about 10 inches) leading to where it entered his chest. He was bedded facing me down a steep side.
The bullet was a Trophy Bonded tip.

Great bucks guys!! Ive got to get better about taking pics, never remember till they are hanging in the barn
-
This is my wifes whitetail from three years ago in Montana. He is basically right where he layed. All Gail did was straddle him where he layed and had the picture taken. We had this buck come in and he kind of had us pegged. He came in facing us and for the life of me I couldn't get him to turn broadside. My wife shoots a .270 WBY mag and is VERY proficient in the use of said rifle. I ranged the buck at 136 yds with my Leica rangefinder. She had the buck in her scope and had a good rest. I asked if she was comfortable with the shot and she answered yes. I then asked her if she had a good site picture of his white throat patch. She adjusted and told me yes again. She had been holding on the bucks chest. I then told her that if she was good with the throat patch shot to go ahead and take him. Well, tat was all she needed to hear. The .270 Wby barked and the buck just crumpled. It was as if if someone had cut his legs out from under him. When we got to the buck we examined him and found that her shot had hit home PERFECTLY!! If you look real close in the picture you can see the entrance wound in the smack dab middle of the bucks neck (front view). This buck was DEAD before he ever hit the ground.
I am so thankful to be married to the most wonderful woman in the world. She hunts and fishes with me and has raised our three grow children to be outstanding young adults. I came REAL close to losing this angel of a wife four years ago to cancer.
Look real close and you can see te entrance wound. Man, can she ever shoot that WBY!!

Great thread! I wish I had taken a shot of my buck this year AHL. His head was under his body with a only 1 side of his rack sticking out. Next year...
Cool pictures.
-
Here's another angle of my 09 Montana AHL!
-
My younger brothers 2006 whitey.
-
I'm surprised to see so many Muleys compared to whitetail. It is neat to see since they are my favorite to hunt and the country they live in. Cool pictures!
-
Heres a whitey that was shot about 30 ft infront of my truck by someone else as I was walking back to my rig...just inside the treeline about 100 yards off. :bash: :chuckle:

Idaho
-
Deke,
Is that a 2 blade rage hanging out of that Antelopes backside?????
-
PYSEEKER,
Yes it is a rage. The antelope decoyed to 20 yards head on and would not present a broadside shot---so I let er fly straight on. That picture is what I walked up on about sixty yards later.
-
Colorado, Before I had digital ;)
-
:yike:
-
He don't look so hot? :o
-
Deke,
I thought it was. I smoked one in Montana with one this year also, along with a Whitetail & Mule deer in Canada. Blood trail like no other.. I wish we could shoot them in Washington... Nice animals by the way.

-
o i see always wished i could do that :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: its always a rush to try and get them posted in sequence :chuckle:
-
He slid down the hill more than 100 yards before piling up in the rocks. His rack got stuck under the boulder and his body was hanging over it, Tom is really lucky the rack didn't snap.
-
Rob, that looked like a full-tilt pile up into that rock! Great pics!
-
IS HUNTING SEASON HERE YET SEEING ALL THESE GREAT PICS MAKES ME

Unfortunately not :( Took a couple hours of shuffling to get the boned meat and head to the top of the hill, then some time getting it back to the truck, about 6 miles away.

That's tough looking country right there. Great buck.

Thanks guys, but the pic is deceiving. 19" outside, 153 gross!
Don't let him fool you. It may only have a 19" spread, but it is an awesome old buck (min. 7 y.o.) with heaps of character. Only a fool would pass that buck up twice.

My wife shot this buck on Sunday, She hit it good but is walked about 30 yds with its head down. Walked over to this old growth red-rot and laid down. After about 2 minutes it put its head down and was dead. Funny place for a deer to bed down :chuckle: :dunno:

-
VERY sweet picture!!! I want to frame it!
-
Thats a nice buck!! Just wondering if you shoot expadanble broadheads. Your arrows do not penetrate real far.
125 thunderheads I think 2216 aluminum at the time not sure but probably 65-70lbs. that was my golden eagle woodlimb bow that broke at full draw on a bull the next year lol. The first was a long shot and it hit the shoulder just happened to look up the hill I was going up and he was there walking at an angle away from me. The second was after we found it pined on the ground inbetween on a very steep hill and some small firs. I shot it in the neck because that was the only angle I could get it went through and stuck in a stump under the buck. Broke the blades on the broadhead digging it out :bash:. The buck kept looking up at me but it couldn't get up so i figured the neck would do the trick. Killed several deer with neck shots. Near Naselle is where it was taken.
-
Its a combination of the wood limb bow and the arrows. My dads bow does the same thing. but he still gets his deer.
-
My daughter's doe. Can you find it? We watched it kick and roll down and she could keep going so my drag was shorter. It is below the top 1/3 of the tree. (as in tree top)
