I just got done this for a customer, have to switch it over to the base that I made for him. I am federally licenesed to take in all migratory birds also, if anyone over here on the West side is looking for a bird taxidermist. I have a one year turn around, they will all be completed and returned with a simple base. If you want a habitat scenery or an out of the ordinary base it will be extra.
Hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed mounting it (just kidding there is at least 40 hours in that bird arranging feathers)

Really awesome job Joe. Looks like you have an eye for catching all the details. The feathers look really good, you did a good job putting them all in place. I can see that it would have taken you quite awhile to get them like that.
-
Very lifelike, which is probably the best compliment someone can give a taxi.
-
Thanks for the compliments, I have two ducks to do up soon going to make a water scene with it. I love doing the habitats...
-
Nice mount...probobly one of the best turkey mounts I've seen. Nice work.

Great Job! ;) Wish my bro would have taken his tom to you.

Gobble, there is always 2010!!!! I will be hunting them also!!

Damn Joe I missed this. It was funny listening to you on the phone telling me about all the time you put into the feathers :chuckle: Great Job on that Turkey man!
-
Thanks Charlie, as per the phone call, I was seeing feather patterns in my sleep!!!!
-
Just think, another 20 of those turkey mounts and you'll have it down to 10 hours working over the feathers :chuckle:
-
I can't wait for the day that I can do a turkey in less than 30 hours. It was fun to do, but glad I only had one to do!!!!
-
Nice work!
-

Well lets hope so. I am letting it dry for another week or so then going to put it on the base that I built for it...
-
Joe, did you use a freeze dried head?
-
Great job! That is a nice Merriam's gobbler great spears.
-
Nice pre-strut mount...I have also seen them do that pre-poop :chuckle: You got it right on both occasions. I like how you did the head..Freeze-dried? Good Job. Turkeyman has good eyes..those spurs are how long? 1.25"?

:yeah:

Bone - Yes it is a freeze dried head- I had ordered a fake one got it in and was totally disgusted with it. Sent it back and ordered a freeze dried, looks 150% better in my opinion, will never use a fake one after seeing one.
Turkeyman / Yelp - The spurs are right at 1.25 inches
Bowhuntforever - Thank you....
All in all it was fun to do, a lot of work and hours put ito it with getting the feathers aligned.

Smart move going with freeze dried head the only way to go with a turkey mount.
-
Very nice work!
-
Turkeyman- after seeing both, I would not use anything but a freezedried head from now on.
Robb92- Thank You

Just wanted a nice looking base to put on his mantle. Made this one up for him, took a couple of hours so hoping he likes it now that it is complete
-
Great Job Joe, looks like you found your calling, you are a turkey taxi :chuckle:
-
Thanks Charlie, I do not know about birds though, although I like doing them there is a lot of work in them. I am playing now with some fish. I will have to tell you a story next time we talk.
-

Very nice gobbler mount!!!

Well good things, customer came and got turkey yesterday, was super happy with it. I am glad that he liked it, but kind of sad that it is gone, was a nice little eye piece in the shop. Looks like I will have to go and get one this spring to mount up.
