Another angle. Hard to keep up packing all the gear and trying to get pics at the same time. :chuckle:

I would say that these photo's really capture the essence of what hunting is all about. It goes way beyond pulling the trigger or releasing the arrow. There is so much more involved.
Nice photo's capturing the side of hunting some on the outside are not aware of.

Thanks Wapiti, I agree with you 100%. There are so many memories we have on our outings, its difficult to capture them in a picture that will remind you of it.

Here's one from my ID moose hunt in 2006. I think I had enough hide left on that animal about to do a life size mount.....at least it sure felt that heavy!

Cool pics.

I believe it was Saxton Pope that wrote:
"The success of a hunt can only be measured by the amount of effort that goes into it"
By the looks of thinks you all have very successful hunts

Great pics guys i love them. Can you guys recommend a pack for me. I have the Alaska pack and it is just to big and it come with the packboard but your packs look more comfy :chuckle:
-
Cory didn't have these pics in his computer, so he asked me to post it for him.
We'll call the first picture "BEFORE". ...as in "BEFORE I started dragging him out"; "BEFORE I looked at the map"; and "BEFORE it started raining"... :chuckle:
-
...and we'll call this picture "AFTER".
..."AFTER he drug the deer out of the canyon"; "AFTER the rain turned the mountain into mush"; "AFTER he decided that life might just not be worth living"...
Oh yeah.... and "AFTER this, I am buying a %$#@ DEER CART!!! >:("
(CHeck out the drag mark in the mud going up the wheat field behind him :chuckle:)
-
:chuckle: That might be the best one yet. Great post and pictures.
-
That was pretty much the worst drag of my life. It took me 6 hours to get to my truck. I was young and dumb. Knowing what I know now I would have just gone back home and got a pack then boned it out. At the time however, I was seeing so much bear sign I didn't want to leave my deer way the hell up one the mountain. I bought this nifty little P.O.S dragging system that year. You can see the orange straps going around me. Don't waste you time with that thing. As Mark said it was not to long after that i purchased a deer cart. Screw dragging. I was lucky enough to have my father in law show up for the last half mile. He brought with him a big green sled. On the wet ground it worked great, well, better than what I was doing anyway. That may have been the most tiered i have ever been. with each step my foot gathered more mud I'm sure my feet weighed fifty pounds a piece. Never, Never, Never, Ever, doing that again.

2009 Moose, wasn't very far, but plenty heavy with the whole head in the pack.
